I was contacted by the site the evening before arrival giving me the barrier code, my pitch number and a map of the site. I was thinking there will be no need to check in but I was greeted at the reception hut by the friendly Katie who gave me further info on local taxis etc. Lovely spacious site with all level hard standing pitches, there is plenty of grass and trees and it did not feel cramped or crowded at all. The toilet block was also very spacious and had a laundry room and washing up area. I liked the individual bathrooms with toilet,basin and shower in and these were also spacious and spotlessly clean. the The site is well located for access off A64 and while you can't easily walk into York we got Ubers cheaply and easily. Each pitch has it's own electric hook up and tap so no trekking across the site to get water.

There is really nothing to dislike but there is a little bit of distant road noise which you could not hear at all in the van and even sat outside the birds were singing louder and given you are on the edge of a major city it was surprisingly tranquil.

pre arrival info was great. met at reception by owner. pitches clearly marked out witth loads of space on every pitch. toilets/showers well maintained,(wish other users would clean up after using)

local taxi offers 10% discount from site but didnt get discount from driver

The location

We arrived on 27/04/2025 and was greeted with a lady in a wooden hut who asked us to keep the caravan and awning on the graveled pitch. My husband had taken a look at the caravan site before we set off and noticed the pitchers where very narrow to be able to get caravan and awning on together, he mentioned this to the lady who looked puzzled and just said well try your best. This lady was the only person we saw on the site the whole duration of our stay , no one else came to check if everything was ok and we was fine apart from the cleaners who arrived a couple of times and stayed the whole of two minutes nowhere near enough time to check each toilet and shower so obviously no disinfect was poured down the toilets no floors mopped, I know the whole duration we stayed on the site the most pitchers that were taken was 3 and no more which is no excuse just to wipe round and clean floors. In the disabled toilet the lock on the door wouldn’t lock so no one was going to use the disabled facilities.
In the ladies toilets there was a baby changing mat, it was dirty and had a massive rip which no mother is going to put her baby down on this.
The shower doors in the ladies and also the gents which were the same as I asked my husband on the bottom had a pink line indicating bacteria in them which is not good enough.
Quite a few lights on the pitches just flashed all night long.
The path that we was told to walk on was a disgrace and only 10ins wide I have enclosed a photo.
The site looked tired and run down and needed some serious updating.
The cost of £35 per night I expected something much better that this.

Great site, quiet and lovely location just out of the city, with a very handy park and ride close by.

Site lighting unfortunately flashed on some posts. Some were switched off after someone complained, but not all 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

What was there not to like, beautiful, so peaceful we could hear the sheep in the fields next to us, staff member who greeted us was so friendly and happy, Kate the owner is exceptional so supportive and helpful. Efficient in advising and replying to calls or emails. Site very clean, gorgeous site, nice play park for little ones and a lovely safe and clean dog park to allow our furry friends freedom to play, overall amazing, already reserved to book next year.
