A very peaceful site. Pitch sizes very generous we were on a fully serviced pitch. The grounds were immaculately maintained everything was very well thought of and some lovely touches around the site. A lovely welcome by the owners! Really good well stocked little shop and a pub onsite. A different food van each night.
The grounds are lovely and lots of walks in the area.
Nothing to fault, we were there less than 2 hrs and we’d rebooked! Says it all!!
Oh and showers, hot hot hot! :)Ik was niet zo blij met: Wifi reception not great we couldn’t connect at all but didn’t affect our stay.

We enjoyed Monty's bar aswell. Lovely beers on tap to. Close enough to town and shops but far enough asset back so no noise and in the woods. Adult only too which is a great plus. Overall 10/10

Ik was niet zo blij met: Bar only open till 8 pm was a disappointment we don't want to go to bed at 8 pm. There was lots of vacant places don't understand why we had to book 5 days when we would of preferred 4 this shouldn't be dictated how long you have to stay.

Monty's bar is for a late afternoon, early evening drink. We are not a pub, so we do close at 8.30pm for the peace and tranquillity of the park. We do have the Woodman and the St Leonards pubs that you can walk to from the park.
Christmas and New Year are high season due to demand. That is why we have a 5 night minimum stay. We were completely full for New Year so maybe the empty pitches were customers out for the day in Motor homes?

Ik was niet zo blij met: Not great selection foods in shop but it was end season. Milk went off quickly. But loved site we left day early due to storm brewing. Would off preferred to stay for New Year but said no spaces.
Hi Gillian. Thank you for the review. The shop is only a small shop for essentials, so we cant stock a huge range. However we have many supermarkets all in a small drive from us. New Year is very popular and sells out fast. We are already half sold for 2024 New year, so if you want to join us get booked in soon.

Having stayed there in winter with frost on the ground it was an amazing place to stay.
We enjoyed walking through the forest and around the lovely ponds it had a lovely christmas feel.
There is a very large picnic area with amazing views.
Food vendors are a great plus we didn’t use the outside bar although it looked snug with the heaters and people had blankets. We are looking forward to returning in spring/ summerIk was niet zo blij met: –

We do have low lighting at the park and sensor lighting for the shower blocks, but we wont put street lighting up as we have so many customers who enjoy the starts and the lack of light pollution. The place even has WiFi that did not totally suck and was accessible form the van. In fact, my wife and I thought that it was one of the best places we've stayed in the campervan. Full stop. The Wi-Fi is a work in progress, as we are using satellite sky-link. We are too far away to have fibre optic.
The wifi will be improved over the season as additional repeaters are added to the system as the finesse the footprint.
