This is a lovely campsite nestled amongst pine trees with a sporadic mix of trees. Very different setup to a normal field with rows of vans and tents. Ashbourne wood is definitely worth a visit. We hired one of the huts which came with electric, double bed/mattress, picnic bench outside with a ring of stones for a fire. We booked this time of year thinking it would be quiet and could do more with our dog without loads of campers distracting her, which it was not many onsite so it suited our needs, I could definitely see the place would be very busy through the summer. Facilities were clean and tidy no many of them so again this could be a concern in the summer..

Showers and toilets were clean, had hot water

Pitches were allocated at check in and the team kept putting people right next to us even though the site was mostly empty. Would have been much nicer if they had spread people out. Otherwise no complaints

Very peaceful wild camping site. Friendly staff greeted us on arrival and showed us to our pitch. Site was a bit muddy due to the heavy rain we had previously. Nice recreational area with TV and comfy sofas, if you are camping. Good toilet and shower facilities. Watch out for the SATNAV directions as it can send you down very narrow roads. There is an easy access directly from the A38!

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The site was really clean and tidy. The discount with the local pub was a good touch. The woodland pitches are just far enough apart.

One of the best wild campsites ive been on stunning scenery, only 11-12miles to the coast, staff are excellent can't seem to do enough for you

Nothing anyone can do weather

The whole site was wonderful for us in early September. We pitched up in a wild woodland pitch. It's well maintained and the facilities good. We liked the onsite shop and thought the prices were cheap for an onsite shop. Drinking water at the pitch made things really easy. The staff were really friendly and helpful! The communal lounge and charging area is a real plus for those without power.

The location is lovely great for the dogs and the pub is fab. Everyone was very friendly. Lovely and quiet had a lovely time

Facilities, shower and toilet block, communal rest area, chargers, kitchen and fridge freezer. All clean and useable.

Location, wooded area multiple pitches. Ideal exploring 20 mins from Torquay and Plymouth.

Fires and barbecues allowed and wood available.

Price was great for what we got.

Cars weren't allowed by pitch but wheelbarrows provided and walk ways were well maintained for ease.

If we weren't in a group pitches may have felt crowded as they were quite close to each other.

Shop was slightly expensive (didn't bother us too much, captive audience) but some seemed to have a considerable mark up.

We stayed in the wild woodland area which was beautiful and very quiet. Overall the site is lovely and facilities good.

One thing to bear in mind is that you don't get much sunlight in the woods - we missed that a bit.
Showers are a bit disappointing as you have to keep pushing the button constantly to get water out.
