Wild vamping, camped in the woods beside a fallen tree, pitch next to our family's pitch, campfire and was allowed to forage wood, wpod also sold on site, friendly staff, great facilities/kitchen area, private enclosed toilet rooms rather than cubicles, just a great place to camp.

If I had to say something then no stool to put anything on in the showers but I think there were hooks.

Lovely peaceful site with excellent facilities. Beautiful woodland to explore and convenient for all local towns and attractions. Good sized pitches, not crowded and lots of options for tourers, tents, wild/woodland and permanent lodges. Easy access from the A38 for a large caravan...we've already booked for later in the year!

The cabin was spotless, warm and situated on its own. Lots of parking room, enough for two cars. Facilities were basic but we expected this. Two tables and four chairs, so plenty to sit on. Bed was comfortable and had a nice throw included. Not too far from reception and other facilities but far enough away to feel secluded which was great.

Could have included a kitchen cloth, sponge etc for washing up. Water was warm so felt it was adequate but it wasn’t hot. There was a smell in the bathroom, like a sewerage smell. Not over bearing but you needed to close the bathroom door.

Ashbourne woods is a very special and unique campsite, with lots of pitches for campers, caravans, motorhomes, tents, hammocks and a few glamping pods to boot! Brilliant showers and very clean bathrooms, plenty of washing up spaces and a little shop for essentials. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and made sure we had the best stay. Really good for dogs, we walked ours daily around the site and sometimes to the very local pub as well! Plenty for the kids to do, using their imagination and the beautiful surroundings. We will be back! WiFi is poor and all the better for it!

Having to leave!

Being in the woods was fun and unique. Loves how friendly the staff were.
Good use of facilities. The showers and toilets could do with some TLC, but got water which was fab. Not too expensive for the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Lovely little walk to local pub and great food.
We will definitely come again.
Loved the fact we could have a campfire and use any sticks we found on the ground.

Absolutely loved our stay. Fab long weekend. Surrounded by beautiful woodland. A very well kept site. Met owner Helen who was lovely and wardens Bev and Dave are a credit to this site. Tent pitches are set in well kept lawned areas. Wild camping available which looks fun. Loved our stay so much that we have booked again for 3 weeks time.

It rained 🤣 no ones fault but obviously you’ll get a bit muddy but that’s the fun of camping !

A very natural but well managed woodland site. Toilets and ahowers are cleaned regularly never a mess. A comunial covered area with basic amenaties (microwave sinks benches and charging points)

Pitches vary in size according to your tent with Water points dotted through the woods.

Staff are friendly and very helpful 🙂. Allowed us to extend our stay whilst there to accommodate bad weather.

No cars allowed to the pitches making it perfect for the kids to roam safely while we were on site.

We really enjoyed our stay here with a prospect of returning very soon for a relaxing break.
