This was a last min booking and our first time camping. We didn't want to be too far so only 40 min drive but in the countryside with facilities for the children. The site online looked lovely and on arrival was lovely. Easy check in by the young girls in reception. Very polite and helpful. We had an electric pitch number 13, which had a water tap also. The site was clean and well kept with animals on site and a play ground for the children. Toilet block and showers were fine. I used the family shower room and the shower was hot. Wifi was good. We stayed Thur to Sat and although people were coming and going and it was busy it didn't feel like it. Bar onsite and pizzas and burgers etc in the evening if you need it. Kids had a pizza and two lots of chips and it was 16.00. Reasonable prices. Not far from a go outdoors we needed more pegs and drove there in ten min.
Walked ten min down the road to the red lion pub and there's a cafe called the mulberry also nearby.
We all had a great time and will def come back. Thank you for making our first ever camping trip a great one!

Toilets became pretty dirty and ran out of loo paper whilst we were there.

Lovely clean site, staff were so friendly and helpful. Pizzas were great. An all round lovely few days away. We will definitely be back.

The train line runs past the campsite. However my son loves trains and it didn’t bother us one bit. This didn’t put us off at all.

Couldn't fault the site at all. We had a an amazing week. We was only meant to stay for a few nights but extended our stay which was no bother at all. Staff were super friendly and the owner was always happy to help. Cant wait to come back and neither can our children! Thanks for having us

The old Dairy Farm was a brilliant site.
Family of 8. 4 children aged - 8,10,13,15.
There was lots of space to play games, great facilities, helpful staff and they LOVED the goats!!

The site is easy to find and is set in a lovely location with nice local walks. There is large playing fields for children to play and the park was a great hit for the children and not forgetting the goats. The pitches are level. There is a great sheltered seating area which is great if you go with friends and it’s raining.

The arrival times are the same as leaving times. We were running behind by 10 minutes and the new arrivals were waiting. Usually sites give an hour or so. The showers fluctuate from burning hot to cold, very difficult to use and not safe for children. There was a lot of hair in the showers too and water on the floor. The lock on the shower wasn’t great and opened whilst in the shower. No where to put your clothes in the men’s showers other than a single peg. The cleanliness of the toilets is poor. The noise from the trains is very loud and woke us up every morning even in a caravan. The first night we were told to be quiet after 9pm which we adhered to. However our neighbours were loud up until midnight most nights.

Lovely site on the edge of a lovely village. Good shop with the option to hire fire pits, nice bar, food served on the site from time to time (wasn’t sure how this schedule worked), goats and birds to look at, nice play park, good hot showers, electric hook up with tap great.

Despite the sterling efforts of the nice man with the beard who was clearly trying to keep the toilets clean (and deserves a pay rise! 😂) they were pretty much always awful - one of the regularly appeared blocked and to be leaking, one of them was completely missing a lock. We came two years ago the standard was much higher. Someone also appeared to have thrown up in the bushes near the loos and this hadn’t been noticed and the smell was awful after 3 days!

This is the third time we’ve visited the site and each time we’ve had problems with unsupervised children bullying our son and granddaughter. While I know this can happen anywhere it seems endemic at this site - it seems to be attracting people who don’t care what their offspring are up to and who haven’t taught them how to use a loo!! One child actually repeatedly tried to intimidate my son and I in our tent (I had kept him away from the park to avoid trouble!) before deciding to shoot me and my mobile phone with a water gun whilst I was inside my own tent because I had retrieved a item he had stolen from my child from him! Perhaps encouraging parents to take actual responsibility for their little darlings would help? Whilst I know the Old Dairy Farm isn’t responsible for this we’ve had problems each of the 3 times we’ve stayed here.

Facilities are a wow factor for me, everything you need for a pleasant stay, wonderful atmosphere and environment for children to play and feed goats. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady with a very friendly welcome, sadly only saw her twice on our stay but she made my son feel so welcome to 'shop' I hope she sees this, a real asset to the place!

Set in a beautiful little village with two local pubs and nature walks for every ability. Would highly recommend.

Cooked food (pizza only) not available daily. this would have been a great option on other days too as you can't BBQ in the rain.
The rules for using shared communal spaces was not clearly explained.
Shower facilities need a deep clean and not all toilet doors have locks.
