The farmer was lambing and explaining to children and families from the campsite how and why certain things are done. Then the farmer was helping out in the venue at night. An All rounder! The shop and bar staff were extra helpful too. It is so easy to walk out from the campsite onto many different hikes - being close to the Monsal Trail and Angler’s Rest (pub) were extra bonuses. A very much enjoyable stay and I will be back soon.

Also the ladies toilets doors were tricky to shut and lock often left it unlocked and people walked in.

The ewes were lambing during our stay and the farmer had a lovely chat with us and let my son stroke one.

Overall, great campsite with good facilities. Basic, clean facilities.

Thanks for your review. Unfortunately our showers suffered damages during the recent cold weather, we have engineers booked to fit new pumps soon and a note added on our pitchup site mentioning the showers. We have added signs to the pot wash area to make drinking / washing up water obvious to avoid any mix ups and potential health hazards. Our location unfortunately dictates taxi / phone signal availability, which lands in the discretion of the taxi companies / service providers. With regard to the toilet doors, we will investigate further - we are always happy to fix any issues if you let us know while on site!
