Good location for accessing Kitchen Bay jetty, only a 15 minute walk. Hire fire pits for £12. £5 refund when returning.

The dips in the field get a bit boggy when it rains, can’t be helped but good to be aware. Facilities are basic but they are flushing toilets and showers. Staff try their best to keep on top but unfortunately not all visitors treat them with care.

I stayed here with my siblings and their partners. This is the second time visiting Newlands valley. We love it here, it’s so peaceful, staff are very kind and accommodating and always on site when needed. They have firewood, starter kits and fire pits available which is a great help. The toilets were very clean and did not smell. The shower and washing up facilities were also fantastic! It was lovely to watch the festival of light on Catbells too! great views, truly beautiful! We can’t wait to get booked and stay again next year.

Very quick and easy sign in to the campsite and was allowed to choose where we pitched up. The whole site is nice and flat so no worries about being pitched up on a bit of a hill. The surroundings of the site are amazing as you are right in the valley and next to a river that you can get in. There were people with inflatable boats going down the river, so if you have kids that looked like so much fun. You could hire fire pits and get wood and kindling all at a decent price which was great. It is a no frills site but the showers were good enough, clean and hot.

The grass was a little long, would have like it if it'd been cut a bit shorter as it made it difficult to play ball games with the kids. There's not really any rules on site and there were lots of younger campers that were up quite late making noise, however that was minimal and didn't affect us that much.

Showers and toilets were clean and the showers were nice and warm. Also the campsite is quite big so not crowded.

The views! Wow, we had such a wonderful weekend, Ruby was so lovely & welcoming, site basic but that's what you want when you're camping! Clean, showers & toilets great & fresh running water.
We all had an absolutely great time and will be back!

Beautiful location, Catbells just a short walk and 5 mins to a gorgeous pub.
Facilities were kept nice and clean and the showers were great too.
The campsite is not too overcrowded.
Would definitely stay again.

Close proximity to Lake and river great views.

The shortage of water supply in the morning in the bathroom tap (was quickly resolved) and wasn’t particularly affected as could use one of the taps outside the toilets to collect water.
