We have been here twice now and absolutely love it , the location is spot on we love the brewery and short walk to Whitby centre also the coastal path right next to the campsite. It’s ok for short stays only as no showers unfortunately and basic toilets but the scenery makes up for it .

No showers

Site was only about a third full so plenty of space, perfect views. Take your own toilet roll as it wasn't replenished enough ( once a day I think but soon ran out) Toilets were a bit grim but i think that was people letting kids use the toilets unsupervised. No showers or anything else on site other than a porta cabin with a few toilets. We camped and there was no plots just choose a space on the field , downside being you could choose a spot out the way of others to come back to someone pitched right close to you. Very windy but you should expect that on a cliff top.

The only good thing about this site was the Close proximity to whitby town centre

We understood there was no showers so was prepared for this. But how anyone hasnt commented on the toilets is beyond me! For the main field area there is one block of toilets (4 toilets and 1 tiny sink in the ladies and 2 in the mens) for what must of been around 200 pitches! On most days there were only two toilets that were usable meaning you'd have to queue for around 20 mins for the ladies. Even though there was someone topping up the loo roll. They were no where near stocked enough, all toilet roll hand towels and soap would run out instantly. Men's toilets were filthy and both toilets un usable.

On a windy day you will find rubbish all over the site as the bins were overflowing.

How you can charge £25 per night is beyond me!

EHU camper van. Good size pitch. Quite level for such a big field. It says unisex toilets on description but they were separate :-) Close enough to Whitby, only a 10/15 minute walk to the 199 steps. They are not as bad as you may think and there are benches to rest on the way back up. There is a cobble lane at the side of steps but be warned, it is very steep ! You cld easily get a taxi back to the site. Small, dog friendly Fishermans beach, turn 2nd right at bottom of steps. A good 30 min walk I wld say to the other dog friendly beach, up through the whale bone but worth it for the dog and a nice walk along the cliff tops. It must be a real job running this site as it is huge but the 2 guys were very friendly & helpful.

This site is as it says it is, no frills ! To be honest I found the Ladies toilets fine. Always toilet paper and fairly clean. The mens didn't impress my hubby, only 2 toilets for the massive field ? In our section anyway. There was another toilet block way up the field to accommodate that section. We have our own toilet anyway so it wouldn't stop us returning. The amount of grass left after it being mowed was a pain. Just clumps & clumps of it blowing everywhere, tent was caked in it. It could do with tractor raking it up but it is a massive field so !!! The wind was absolutely crazy, we had to pack up and come home a day early :-( I guess that's being on cliff tops for you. Again, it wouldn't stop us trying the site again.

Had a lovely time in Whitby. Cracking view, right on top of the Cleveland Way. The abbey looked spectacular at night when the sun was setting. The brewery at the side of the abbey well worth a visit.

The site itself is what it is, a show field. The toilets were really grim and only 4 ladies toilets and two men’s for the whole of the electric hook up field. I think it was the same for the non electric field aswell. One fresh water tap for each site which was obviously causing a queue.

Would any of that stop us returning?……no, because the location makes up for the lack of amenities.

Views were amazing

Toilets needed more and not very clean would not use them

Turned up early a was fine to get in, plenty of spaces to choose from with awesome views on a well kept field

Couple more toilet blocks would of been a plus

Big pitches, electric hookup was close by and easy to use and the views were stunning!

Toilets were a bit of a nightmare. Just not enough of them for the amount of people staying and some were also then out of order. Lack of toilet roll and no hot water.
