Location is decent

For the tourists out there, the lady at the reception was extremely rude I hope she can fix that attitude as she claims she doesn't understand English when she is speaking in it just fine. I also don't like how they don't give toilet paper or a toilet seat to sit on for the majority of the toilets. The toilets are so complicated as they are separated from the washrooms so you have to walk to another building just to wash your hands however there isn't even any soap given. It needs a lot of improvement for the facilities cause I felt disgusted staying at the campsite. The smell of the washrooms smelt like urine most of the time and they can't give toilet paper or hand soap? The campsite barely gives information on what to do around the town along with a rude French lady at the reception. It is such an expensive stay for those with family as well. You also have to pay for Wi-Fi? I'm sorry do not recommend, bad campsite.

Nice quiet site, clean with a very helpful member of staff, who might have been the owner, am not sure.. lovely stopover for us, just the one night and we got there late tea time so not really enough time to take it all in.
Lovely clean showers and a very tidy site in beautiful surroundings. Would definitely stay again..

Our second time on this excellent site, so friendly and convenient for both the beach and local shops and restaurants.

Idyllic setting on a beautiful island. Right on the beach. Plenty of facilities.
Lovely village with great shops. Great cycle lanes everywhere. Close enough to cycle over the bridge into La Rochelle. Lots of places to see on the island.

Some of the facilities could just do with a bit of updating.

Beautiful beach 2 minute walk from our tent, warm pool, clean showers, gorgeous island, close to shops & restaurants.

Did not like the water tap right beside the unit for emptying your toilet cassette
Was a bit scruffy in those areas

Plenty of wash and shower facilities, location second to none, adjacent to shops and lovely bakery, good atmosphere. Security personnel.

Only electric barbecue is allowed that we were not expecting but staff kindly pointed to the area we could cook the meal.
Toll bridge charge crossing to the island and heavy traffic at the weekend but it was inevitable.

The camping Le Platin-La Redoute was very complete in all its services offered, as they have an area for kids with a bouncy castle and a play ground. Also, doing activities for children in the morning. At night, they were offering live music, karaoke, bbq, etc.
The camping is very well located. You can find shops and the beach only 2 min walking. I highly recommend it.

Toilets a bit old

This was a lovely site in a good location of visiting Île de Ré.
It had a lovely size pool, close to a shop and near all the cycle paths. Bus stop to La Rochelle just very nearby so we did not need to move our camper van once we had set up.

What lets this site down severely is the lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms.
I don’t think I saw anyone cleaning them in the 3 days we were here and the bins which also were used as sanitary bins were constantly over flowing.
This is made worse by the fact they are unisex bathrooms so my young son was subject to dirty sanitary items. It’s not really good enough, especially as this was the most expensive site we have booked during our stay in France. You’d expect more when you pay more.
