Pitch space was excellent, it was quiet most of the time. Short walk into wool which has a lovely pub which serves great food.
Facilities were clean and well looked after.

Not so much as dislike but the site is better suited for people without children. No ball games allowed and although the games room (pool table) should close at 8:30, it was closed earlier some nights.
Can hear the trains but it wasn’t enough to stop us sleeping.
Ladies showers were push putting where the men’s apparently were not

Good location and well laid out site. Friendly, helpful staff. Well tended surroundings and handy shop on site. Enjoyed our stay very much.

A bit over zealous with locking amenities - doors to toilets and washing up rooms were locked on keypads from quite early evening and not unlocked until after 8ish on a morning. When carrying a heavy bowl of washing up or trying to access toilets after dark this wasn't helpful. Is this measure necessary? Never stayed on another site that needed this kind of security, especially as the site also had locked gates. Seemed a bit excessive, unless the area is some kind of crime hotspot?? Gents showers were fine, but ladies had annoying push button that turned off water too quickly and temperatures fluctuated a lot.

I've stayed here before but so knew it would be fine. It's a lovely, well presented site that's well maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I think it's perfectly located for access to the coast either by car or train (which is just nearby). Great facilities always clean and music in the loos; what more do you need? We were pitched right by the railway line and the passing trains didn't bother us one bit. The village has a couple of decent shops for groceries, at least three pubs, a chip shop and a really good Chinese takeaway; all within 5-10mins walk. The path to the river was flooded sadly, which was a shame as there's a lovely walk along the river (take wellies if the forecast is bad). Monkey World is great fun, just 5 mins drive and there's also the Tank Museum. Can't really fault it, so we will be back for a third visit.

The shop was a little pricey and understocked, but there's two shops in the village within 5 mins walk, so not really an issue, just a point.

Our second time camping as a family so we wanted enough facilities and cleanliness to make sure we didn't put the children off! The play area was also a reason to book too. It didn't disappoint. The lovely staff were helpful getting us to our pitch and the shop was stocked with essentials. The facilities were all clean and gave us what we needed. The radio in the toilets was nice too! The location was good and enabled us to visit Corfe castle, the swanage railway and the tank museum all very easily. We even went slightly further to Kingston Lacey which wasn't too hard to get to. All in all, a great site and would recommend.

As some have said, you can hear the trains passing not too far from the site but these aren’t particularly regular and we think we heard tanks driving around too at night (but may have been tractors!)

The site is first class, very tidy, showers and toilets were very clean the groundeds of the site were all mowned, rubbish bins emptied daily, the staff were extremely good ,they positioned the caravan on to the booked pitch for you using their small tractor. I have not come across this anywhere before, brilliant, recommended, will be back soon.

The friendly and helpful staff went well beyond their remit when our awning blew over the top of our caravan!

We were out at the time but they held the awning together until we returned. Otherwise we probably would have lost it. So big thanks to them!

The site is in a great location near the railway station and bus stops. Shops close by and a chippy. We took the open top bus to Lulworth and had a lovely day out at the cove.

Toilet block was very clean.

We appreciated the tractor to get our caravan perfectly positioned on the pitch. We don’t have a mover so that was very welcome.

Great location - excellent public transport links for the Jurassic coast, both train & bus. Site is very well organised and managed with good security. Lots of caravans, some seasonal. We were welcomed and shown to our pitch. Great facilities. Showers and toilets very clean and spacious. Good shop. Lovely pub 5 mins walk with good food. Local Spar near by too. Would definitely return to explore more of the area. We were only there for 2 nights.

What a lovely place to stay, we went to Dorchester, Salisbury, Weymouth, swanage, they were all so near. the station is only a short walk away we paid £20 for 2 returns tickets to Weymouth and the parking at Swanage was £6 for over 4 hours Toilet block excellent, the people who ran the site were so lovely and very helpful the shop on site had a good collection all in all a very good time on a quiet site

My only dislike was the toilet block was locked at night, we were given a code to open the door after midnight but I always forgot my glasses lol

Nice peaceful site (despite being close to a train line), lovely flat pitch, spotlessly clean toilet/shower block, very friendly and helpful staff.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitemead and would (and do) recommend it to anybody. Lovely part of the country as well! We would certainly book there if we go to Dorset in the future.
