The email with directions sent made finding the car entrance really easy. The check in process was really quick and simple - the Ranger was friendly and helpful.
The site is clean and tidy, and (depending on who else is there) peaceful.
Facilities are basic, but clean and functional - and exactly as advertised.
Closest campsite to the broads that I have found, a perfect base for canoeing or paddle boarding, or just a sit on the banks.
The Hungry Otter is on the doorstep for Teas/Coffees/Cakes etc. in the morning.
Perfect place if you want a simple, basic, camping trip!

The Ranger tried his best to police the fact that it is a 'quiet' site. Including asking a group of people to leave after a noise complaint from the night before.
Unfortunately, I think people fail to realise how far their voices carry. Please if you are going to book this site, pay attention to the noise warnings and be considerate that other people may be wanting some peace and quiet.
It is a bit isolated, in that it is not possible to walk far along the broads. But this is just unfortunately due to the position of Salhouse broad in the wider network. If you want to get anywhere via 'the scenic route' you are best off taking a boat!
None of these are 'criticisms', just things that I think people should be aware of before they book so they are not disappointed.

Lovely setting right by salhouse broad. Pitches well spaced out. Plenty of clean toilets. Perfect for a night or two away. Lovely meal at pub 20 mins walk away

- Expensive parking with limited booking options
- No onsite warden after 5pm & none of the phone numbers provided worked.
- Due to their being no warden, groups end up staying up with campfires, using large inflatable boat generators, shouting and being inconsiderate on site until 3am.
- Awkward to enter/ exit via car/ accessibility issues
- 1 Drinking water tap for the whole site
- no wash facilities

Peaceful, close to nature , even an owl flew past the tent and the dawn chorus was a delight to hear something you may never notice in town.

Nothing

Me, my partner and friend thoroughly enjoyed enjoyed our stay. The views were incredible around the whole site, the wheat fields and the lake were lovely to walk around (especially during sunset). We rented canoes from the ranger and went around the lake which was an adventure to say the least. The Ranger and site workers were lovely and very accommodating. We’re loved having the fire pits to have campfires in the evening (you can buy wood from the ranger) or do what we did spend sunset collecting firewood on a walk. The fur and feather inn was only a 20minute walk from the site. I would definitely recommend visiting there, they brewed their own beer, had beautiful pond outside and had great vegan food&drink options!

Had to pay for 2 tent pitches for 3 of us with just 2 two-man tents. They easily fit on the one tent pitch, it was frustrating that you couldn’t just get one tent pitch if you could fit on it. Made the trip less affordable.

This is a really great secluded site, away from main road traffic. It felt like you were away from it all! Nice spacious pitches with space for kids to play in middle and perfect for being by the waters edge. Great that they allow campfires and no cars by the pitches too! Loved it here and will return soon.

Camp site was amazing! Staff and location. We loved the lake, taking out my SUP. Loved the local pub just 20 minutes walk away. We will definitely be back! We also loved the star gazing and saw 2 shooting stars!

Would have liked a shower 😄

Beautiful location, super quiet and friendly staff! Ideal for paddle boarding as you can launch straight from the site!
