The play area is fantastic, clean facilities, great communication before the holiday and no issues with the self check in

Very disappointed, I hadn't received my pitch allocation on the day I would normally so emailed to enquire only to receive an email cancelling our booking!!! Which was the day before our booking!!! I then needed to find accommodation as we were going to a racing event at Holme Pierrepont so couldn't just cancel our plans. I only used this campsite as its convenient for the centre but after this weekend I have and will be using another campsite. I am wait for a full refund.
The pictures of the site are miss leading and the shower and toilet blocks need a lot of updating

When we arrived there was no one to talk to about where our pitch was. We had hard standing but unfortunately when you stepped out beside the caravan/awning it was very muddy grass a lot of it being churned by other users. The info and pictures are a bit misleading as there is nothing on the actual site besides a small play area. The activities are a little walk or drive away across the road (if you drove you had to pay for parking). The shop wasn't open for very long. We didn't feel there was any staff on site to talk to if we had any questions. We ended up asking the cleaners. Shower blocks not very clean. Check out was quite early. Unfortunately we had some late arrivals on our last night being very loud. The lake that had the inflatables on is extremely dirty with old shoes, Rubbish and clothing floating around it (might be its not maintained due to it being April)

The activities available is great wide variety of things to do. My lad loved the jeeps

Paying for parking if driving over to the activities as it was seperate from the actual site, shop was rarely open or reception, main mens toilet and shower block needs updating leaking toilets and quite smelly, the newer shower blocks where alot more pleasant

Easy to find

The showers are rubbish, the timer on the push button don't stay on long enough to wet a finger let alone your hair!!!! This is a long standing problem and wish it was sorted as we have to use this site alot for the regatta lake and whitewater centre

Area is lovely for good walks around the country park and surrounding areas.

We arrived on site to several areas quite water logged. We attempted to get on our narrow pitch by following the rules of the site and promptly got stuck in the mud!
Several attempts by staff were made to help get us out but nothing worked.
Eventually we had to call our breakdown to come and pull us out with specialised equipment.
Staff were at helpful at the time but had we have had prior notice of how bad it was we could have made an informed decision of whether to come. Had staff had advised of driving in the opposite way we also wouldn’t have got stuck.
When my husband suggested they should pre warn people he got
“yeah we probably should”
We’d received 2 emails prior to us coming as they had changed our pitch number but no mention of how bad the site was.
Staff were very helpful at the time but couldn’t get hold of them the next day when they had offered to help us hose the motorhome down. Even though they’d given us a direct number to call.
Toilets were very unkept, Mens urinals were corroded and rusty. Overall the site was in a state of disrepair.
Our stay was for 4 nights, after one night we decided to leave.

Proximity to activities suitable for 6 year olds (mini land rovers, sky trail and playgrounds)
Pod was clean with electric sockets and heater. Big enough for our family of 3.
Toilet/shower block was cleaned daily

Showers did not get warm
