Great location, great facilities. Staff not overbearing with to much information, told us where we could pitch and where the facilities were. Other campers were friendly, mostly kept to themselves. Campsite happy for us to check in late (accident on m6). Also happy for a small group of all males looking to go walking.

Top field was a little exposed with strong wind.

The campsite is clean, tidy, and very well maintained. The staff couldn't do enough for us. I would definitely recommend this campsite, and I will be returning next year.

Poor drainage on site made for boggy condition (persistent rain though).

Allowing large groups of 20+ on site causing noise disruption late at night.

Enjoyed our stay in a pod
Weather was windy and wet partially but the pod provided warmth and light to be able to snuggly up and enjoy our break.
Great Idea for pizza people to visit facilities of communal kitchen and washing area good.

The amount of spiders in the toilet and washing area needed a good brush down.

Lovely site with pleasant scenery. Good and clean amenities. Good facilities in the communal area. Pizza on site is a great idea. POD was clean and warm. Close to Keswick and good walks. Would definitely stay here again. Free WiFi was good, as poor phone reception in the area, even though only accessible near the communal area.

Great site. Super friendly welcome, brilliant amenities (kept nice and clean and not far from where ever you are on site).
Everyone respected the rules of the site and each other.

Hut was clean, warm (without using the inbuilt under floor heating) and had no issues whatsoever. Mattresses provided were comfy. The site itself was peaceful, toilets and showers were clean. Everybody friendly. Will stay again.

Due to the amount of rain recently, the stepping stones and surrounding ground leading to the hut was a mud bath. Slipped a couple of times too.

Weather obviously not the site’s fault but could maybe do with a better surface leading to the huts. Then again, it’s camping so it’s a VERY minor grumble.

Great site, all the amenities you need. Toilet/shower blocks were spotless. We made good use of the tumbler dryer & the fire pits. We were given the option of pitching our tents in the main field (which is a bit exposed to the elements) or the smaller field next to the waterfall, so chose the latter which offered more protection from the wind/rain, but also came with a great view of the towering waterfall. On site shop had lots of selection & the staff, who were very friendly, are happy to open up outside of the opening hours

The incessant rain

I came to Gill Head at the beginning of August with my godfather and my 18 month old. I enjoyed the site. I would highly recommend this site. I enjoyed the feel of it, the facilities were great and easily accessible. I returned back here two days ago with my best friend and my little boy again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The campsite as a real family feel to it and everyone including the owners were pleasant.
