The site is lovely. It,s clean, well maintained and has everything needed including a communal room with cooking facilities.

The only issue was the noise from the main road ! Not the site's fault obviously.

We loved everything about the site, sheep, cows, chickens, peacock and the playground. The toilets and showers are very close to the pods and so warm at night for 5 month old and 6 year old. Location was great to visit Ullswater and lowther castle. The communal room was great with microwave and fridge and freezer. We didn't want to leave and would love to come back in summer

Exceptional from initial enquiry to leaving site - thanks Mark and Amanda. Professional, friendly, great facilities, good value for money and fabulous location at the foot of Blencathra and just 15 minutes to Keswick - don’t hesitate to book at Gill Head Farm, oh and it’s open all year round.

Very friendly staff, clean and good quality facilities, lovely setting, everything very reasonably priced and the communal area is fantastic

-able to choose our own spot on arrival
-good facilities such as pot washing room, showers, plenty of toilets, laundry and a common room with fridge.
-bathrooms were clean on a morning
-owners were very friendly and allowed us to extend our check out free of charge.

-after lunchtime, the bathroom became quite dirty. The showers had a lot of grass and mud in them. The toilets were also in a poor state with dirty seats and bowls. The sinks were also quite grimy by the end of the day, too.

Great views all round, hot, clean showers & facilities. Friendly & helpful at check in.
Good location for walking the fells around Blencathra & also close enough to Ullswater & Glenridding area.

Not really a dislike but cars need to be parked on the hard standing (for obvious reasons) which could mean having to constantly go back & forth or squeeze more things into your tent.
It also means that if others arrive when you are out you may not get parked as close as you were. Also people tend to pitch close to the parking which may get cramped at peak times.
Close proximity to the A66 means there is a constant hum of traffic but nothing that should detract from the experience.
Non of the above was a problem for me & I have already booked a return for next month.
