Clean facilities

You only get to have a scenic view if you are booked on a camping pitch as we were on a touring pitch was not ideally happy with the site from our point of view

Great campsite. Several different areas to pitch. Amazing views. Fab amenities - very clean toilets and showers and a communal area including fridge, freezer, microwave and kettles which are handy in bad weather!

Location, facilities, space

Fairly remote. Only small village with 1 pub in walking distance

Campsite was lovely with stunning views. Clean showers/toilets, quiet and communal room had puzzles, DVDs, kettle, toaster, microwave, freezer and fridge for convenience. Also gas stove undercover to break the wind. Mark was super informative and we loved the chickens/peacocks roaming about, we definitely want to come back!!

Superb Views from where we pitched the tent. Godd facilities. Quiet with being midweek. Dog walk to exercise an energetic spaniel.

Beautiful site, very peaceful, great facilities and some great walks. Great location for days out.

The toilets were moved from the riverside camping then the light was broke in the next set of toilets.

Easy access from main road and had the necessary facilities. 10min drive to Keswick.

Didn’t look like the toilet and shower block was cleaned each day and the showers are on a 10s timer which could have been a bit longer. No view for motorhome pitches.

Site - the site is very quiet and peaceful, and the staff are very friendly. Lovely and green and the river pitch we opted for was very lovely.

Amenities - the toilets were plentiful and they were always lovely and clean, however, they could definitely do with the toilet seats tightening as every toilet i used on site has a very loose toilet seat.
The showers were warm in the main block, and very hot in the extra block among the caravans. Both worked well and have plenty of space for clothes and whatnot.

Connectivity - the wi-fi in the communal area was really good, especially as i run my own business so i could pop up every ferw days and do my correspondance. There wasnt much signal around the site for phone reception, but thats fine by me as i like to relax while i am camping.

Essentials - there is a lovely little stock of essentials in the main reception in case you forget something.

There was only one thing that we didnt like. We stayed Monday - Sunday, and on the Saturday evening the toilet cabin that was for the river pitch areas was taken away and no one popped down to see us to tell us this happens(ed). So this meant that when we needed the loo we had to walk 5-10 minutes to the main blocks. If you get caught short, which we didnt, or you have kids who dont always have much time to feel they need the loo, this wouldnt work well and could lead to accidents or people having to use the bushes for their number two's.

It would be better if they had a few portaloos there that are opened up when the toilet trailer is taken for cleaning. And it would have been good for us to be filled in that this happens at weekends so that we know that we have to take the extra walk to the main areas. And as i said, people with children then might choose to move to the main camping area to be close to the plumbed in toilets etc.
