Lovely site and very welcoming and the staff are very friendly helpful, have friends who live there ,regularly go and meet friends, met lots of other people and well looked after site very clean and tidy. Stay there regularly.

We stayed for a long weekend, and there was quite a few of us in a mixture of caravans, campervan and tents. and the staff were very friendly and helpful and put our group all together as we’d requested. We had a few dogs with us and there’s a big field area for walking.

Stayed in our motorhome with disabled son and his friend in tent. Asked if we could be close to our son for his needs, put us right next to the toilet blocks which was great for him. Loverly cut grass field, very quiet part from the trains which you quickly get used to, will definitely visit again sometime soon and use the facilities.

Majority of shower facilities were not open at that time of year, the ones that were open were tired and need some repair and tlc.

Staff were apologetic later and offered a free drink in the bar.

Don't be fooled by the photograph, this 'campsite' is a dump. Even if, like us, you are just stopping for the night to break your journey, find somewhere else. I would emphasize at this point that the staff we dealt were as helpful as possible. It was chaotic on arrival, we couldn't even get through the barrier for 25 minutes. Inside, it quickly became clear that this is a touring campsite in name only. I would guess that 2/3 of the vans there were permanent residences, some very scruffy indeed, it had the air of an encampment. The toilets/ showers were quite filthy, we would have paid the £1 token not to use the showers. The grass had been cut but left to mulch so any venture outside brought grass and dirt back into our van. There must be a level crossing nearby because every passing train blew it's horn, stopping after about 10.00pm and restarting at 6.00am. In the morning, due to a shortage of gate entry cards we had to quickly follow another van under the barrier rather than wait for the office to open. The cost of our stay including hookup was, wait for it, £27.00

Excellent site with clean facilities, friendly staff and level pitches
Really biker friendly cheaper if you go on your bike.
Great food and bar, Sunday roast was a treat.

Bar staff were friendly and helpful, food was affordable and good quality. Camping field was decent quality with flat ground. Toilets were close to the campground and there were water facilities on site. Great site and I'm looking forward to visiting again some time next camping season.

Only slight issue are the trains that pass frequently and sound their horn every time it passes. Not something the site can control but something to be aware of if you're a light sleeper.
