Peaceful site, lots of space, great to have picnic benches. Loved listening to the birds, so many birds!

Small things could make this place better. Facilities could have been cleaner and they need to get a bin for campers to dispose of their rubbish. When we arrived there were lots of bin bags dumped near the washing up area which is unhygenic and would attract vermin.

Beautiful campsite, amazing lakes to swim in! Nice amount of space around us. Great location and close to York, whilst still being a peaceful and quiet campsite. Great cafe.

Not enough facilities. 2 showers for the whole site and only 1 sink for washing up. Everything was quite a walk from the field too. We couldn’t find any bins or anywhere to put recycling. Maybe the idea is to take rubbish home with you, but that is too difficult if you’ve travelled miles and are staying for several days. When we arrived the reception was closed and no one ever came over to check in with us during our stay, so maybe we missed some information there.

What can I say about this amazing site? I came with friends to try wild swimming for the first time and absolutely loved it. So much so I swam twice in one day, and loved the Full Moon Swim. If you are worried about fish in open water, don't be. I'm a real coward and I thought it was brilliant :)
We stayed in the Woodside field which was incredibly peaceful and quiet, despite the Meadowside field being fully booked for school half-term. I kept forgetting it was half-term as we barely saw or heard kids.
The cafe was brilliant, I rewarded my swimming bravery with coffee and walnut cake, and all the food looked delicious.
Great facilities; Woodside is handy with a water tap and chemical disposal point. The toilet block and washing up area was also very close by.
In summary, this site is just fab, close to York and very quiet and peaceful. And I've already booked two more wild swims there!

I think my only suggestion is to make the bins prominent please. None of us could find them, so ended up leaving our rubbish near the other binbags near the washing up sink. I would much rather have put them in the bin to avoid beasties getting at the rubbish. Recycling facilities would also be good. Everything else is tip-top!

This is an amazing, tranquil site. A perfect base for swimming, walking and cycling. Swam in all the lakes and they are amazing. Cafe is a credit to them too.

Quite a walk from the site to the facilities. I know they're updating these shortly as there is currently only 2 toilets each and 2 showers. Very dusty car park.

Everything about the site! Fabulous outdoor swimming, friendly staff and family owners. Can’t wait to go back!

The whole site is beautiful. Gorgeous lakes surrounded by amazing trees and flowers. Truly stunning. My 14 yr old daughter and I loved swimming in them, even though the sun was hiding.

We had a lovely fire in the evening, the camp area was quiet, and the grass was perfect for pitching (pegs went in like cream cheese).

Nice brekky in the cafe next morning. Defo will go back in warmer weather. Perfect for 1 or 2 nights, but no more, as the area isnt the Lakes is it. We did drive to Skipwith Common only 15 mins away and that was lovely for walking.
