Great place for a long overdue family get together . I think the cafe/bar is the icing on the cake and reasonable priced food.

Water temperature for the showers was a bit hit and miss

Quiet campsite in a lovely spot with good facilities. The shower/toilet block was very new and lovely and warm. There were different bins to enable recycling. Everything was close to our pitch, it’s not a huge site but it’s well laid out. Cafe serving alcohol was a nice bonus. This is open to the public so my parents could visit us on-site, something that a lot of campsites do not allow these days. The playground was great for younger kids. I loved the wild garden in the middle and sitting by the lake having a pimms. The pizza van on Tuesday was a big hit too. There’s a shop in the village not too far away and a couple of pubs (can’t comment on these as we didn’t leave the campsite) we were only there 2 nights but we had a lovely peaceful stay and would recommend it to friends and family.

There wasn’t a lot to dislike, my only suggestion would be that the toilet/shower block could do with more frequent cleaning. Or at least checking on. I don’t know if it was just unsupervised kids using the ladies but the only time it felt clean was immediately after the cleaning had been carried out. Sinks had dirt around them and some of them were full of soapy water. Also quite often toilets hadn’t been flushed. This happened on both days.
The showers are push button ones that turn off quite quickly, which from a water conservation point of view is a good idea but it’s just a bit annoying when you’re showering. It’s not something that would put me off going again though.
Mobile phone coverage is poor but I actually quite liked this.

Ease of entry and friendly welcome nothing a hassle left alone and great facilities on site, OB was great

Building works going on whilst there and working on a Saturday when its law to be finished by a xertain time so as not to disrupt peace and quiet, and the OB had not much choice on the grill menu wither burger or Halomi burger. Dogs left to roam around off the leads by caravan owners so no policing by wardens

The site was very clean. Lovely clean, toilets and showers. Were lovely and warm pub area is quite nice and a nice play area for the kids.

I wish they put a hook on the back of the doors in the toilets, so you could hang your dressing gown or coat when going to toilet. And need to sort out the potholes at the exit.

We love this site! Everyone’s really friendly , it’s well kept! Clean! And the views and lakes are lovely!

The only thing that we didn’t like was the cleaner blaring music in the shower blocks every morning as she cleaned or sweeping/mopping under the doors while you were either on the loo or showering.

We like the lake and the play area. The goats and ducks were enjoyable as well. The walks from the booklet were also nice. The villages around were beautiful. On Sunday there was live music and and you can buy souvenirs from the markets that were set up there also on Sunday.There were clean toilets and showers which were very nice.
