Plenty of open space with plenty room to pitch.
Toilets and showers where basic but served a purpose.
Icecream van at night and coffee van in the morning where perfect and very convenient.
Local pub was very good also

Although toilets where functional they were heavily used and sometimes a bit busy.

Clean site, toilet and showers were very clean. Onsite security/admin. Lots of families and friendly atmosphere.

3 miles to Keswick which we walked and close to the start of several other named walks

No bins or places to get rid of rubbish.

Amazing staff, so attentive and accommodating to any requests and questions. Really kind and friendly environment. Beautiful setting and close to the local pub, beautiful scenic walks and a short walk (1mile) to the near by boat taxi that can take you to Keswick and other locations off the lake. Ice cream van and coffee can come at times in the day which is great for a wee treat or hot brew just when needed.

It’s only open a small Druid of the year.

The site is very flat and dry. Although not a permanent site, the facilities were fine - no issues. Staff at check in were friendly. The location is pretty good too

I am aware that this is a personal experience and others are unlikely to have a similar.
I was stopping over for one night between two days of hiking. My plan was for an early start the following day so I went to bet at 10:30 to read - and all was fine. At 11:30pm I was woken by my tent being completely lit up - two wars parked up next to me. They then proceeded to pitch up 3 tents literally 1 meter from my pitch. The noise of setting up (using mallets, moving equipment etc.) continued until around 1am. I then managed to get back to sleep... and then they started to snore! I've never heard anything like it - I had my earbuds in playing music and I could still here them. I ended up leaving my tent and trying to sleep in my car. In total I slept for about 2 hours and it ruined my trip.

Whilst the snoring was outwith the sites control - allowing people to pitch up so late is. And if you are going to accept people so late - keep them away from everyone else (the site was only half they could have been instructed to pitch up in a quiet corner.

The owner and wife were fantastic and helpful. Clean facilities and the location is amazing because of catbells mountain 🏔️🏔️

The toilets smelled quite bad.

Great site in a very nice setting with hills all around as a nice backdrop. Site owners very nice warm and welcoming, I'd didn't want much but they were very accommodating. Toilets, showers and wash up areas all very decent. Maybe would seem a little remote for some but that's was exactly what I liked about the site. Pub a short walk up the hill and 15 to 20 minute walk to a very lovely Derwent water.
I stayed Friday Saturday and left Sunday. Myself and my dog and had a great time, I'd not camped for 20+ years but the experience was all good to me.

Not really applicable as I didn't encounter any negatives in my stay.
Wifi not the best (adequate enough to check the weather app occasionally) all around site but really not a negative for me because i wanted to disconnect anyway. Some may not like this but really what would you expect from a campsite in a rural setting.

Fantastic campsite, had the most amazing wkend with my family ruby and Shaun couldn’t do enough for us (even lending us a pushchair as my partner forgot ours). Showers toilets immaculate always checked and kept clean and tidy, hot water sinks for washing dishes. The site is manned all the time if you need anything there’s always someone there think it’s a shame there only allowed to open so many days a year as it’s a fantastic family run campsite can’t wait to return next year thank you so much ruby, Shaun and your dad for the amazing hospitality

Lovely campsite & location, particularly the lady managing the campsite could not have been more helpful!
There was quite a large group of us and they had no issue (which sadly some places often do!)
Ice cream/coffee van turned up 1-2 times a day which was great.

Would benefit from having more showers as the campsite got busier over the weekend - but otherwise very good!
