Nice campsite, our family and our friends really enjoyed these 3 days, with clean toilet and shower block.

Setting, pools, pitch size. My husband enjoyed the fishing.

Groups of lads allowed to party until 4 in the morning. What happened to no noise after 11pm! People not treating shower facilities with respect ie dirty towel and clothes hanger left on floor, talc all over floor in shower, in the mens boxers and socks left on sink area. Unable to mop shower after as handle on mop did not screw in mop head. Children kicking leather football at awning. They did apologise but only soft sponge balls should be played with to protect individual property

The campsite was easy to find and laid out clearly.
The staff were really friendly.
The shower heads were huge and the cafe is really decent. Opened from 7am which is great because we have a toddler who is up early. There was a good play area and some animals for the kids to look at. It’s picturesque with all of the lakes for fishing.

We had a non electric pitch. The loos/showers are located on the far side electric pitch so it is a bit of a walk with young children would have been nice to have more than 1 shower block.
The water pressure was good but made a very loud noise as the pressure came in waves.

As usual, the reception was good with the facilities working well and kept spotless by the site staff.

Unfortunately, after the first two nights, two families returned to caravans that were previously empty and the place turned into a nightmare. The toilets and showers became unusable due to them being used as a play ground. The toilets became blocked and unflushed with dirty toilet paper strewn around, so they used the floor instead. (This was not children). This was not a case of the site cleaners not doing the job, this was extreme. The field became littered with can, bottles and discarded food. There was loud music played from a car which would not have been allowed in the past at this site.
The biggest problem was that nothing appeared to be done about it by the site management. If they are going to allow this type of resident on site then they will soon have no touring customers, including us. We had paid for three more nights but the reception was quick to give us our money back and we left for another site.
We have used this site for many years but will not be returning any time soon.

Our stay at Makins fisheries was great, we definitely come back again. We love this place so much.
