Nice area near to places of interest to visit like Lyme Regis to fossil hunt, sidmouth, exmouth, honiton, etc, had a great time rambling around looking at coastal areas even woods, National trust and English heritage places, in quiet rural location!! Saw farmer cutting and baling hay and Aberdeen Angus cows eating in field near to restaurant/campsite etc, lovely!!! Had lovely fish and chips in ottery st Mary too advise a trip!!

For any one interested we came here in the early 1990's and Boveys Down was then just a 24 acre field and everything was gradually added as funds allowed. starting first with the industrial size building which houses the commercial kitchen with the tearoom added in 2016 The toilet and shower block was built in 2015 & extended in 2022/23.
Very interested to know what is , to quote, 'unsafe and unhealthy'.
as we take both these things very seriously. Cleaning takes place 3 times daily and we have ample facilities including all you could possibly need for a family camping holiday.
Nice clean site with nice facilities.

Sorry but the nearby road is heading for the coast so being a bank holiday traffic increased.
Grass is mown every week but when constantly in use its difficult to keep trimmed. Prior to your arrival Gerald spent a total of 5 hours on the Mon & Tues cutting grass. Rainy season = mud, difficult to change at times.
There is a good selection of walking maps on the information table covering local and slightly further away walks.
Sadly not enough people listen to the introduction or read their welcome / information letters as this time the facilities over this side campers did not really bother to use.. The toilets in the Swallows barn were hardly used .
The toilet and shower room ( inc baby changing facilities )was not used by anyone accept one pitch. (by the kitchen area) I was the weekend cleaner so did three rounds per day and obviously can tell whats been used and where.
Over night 4 toilets and three showers are lit up 24/7 from 6am the barn was opened for the remaining toilets and urinals.
There are also signs put on the wall facing the ramp telling guests to use the Swallows barn facilities but at times words fail me as to how we get people to use everywhere.

Don't worry everyone paid that had extensions and splitters supplied by Gerald who was an engineer so knows what he's doing. We supplied them all to enable everyone to have a weekend of enjoyment here. The electric output is designed to take splitters/cables. We have a huge amount of supply here on the farm as 3 phase at source.
We spent most of Fri & Sat sorting pitches to enable everyone have what was requested.
All toilets and showers are cleaned 3 times per day essential on such a busy weekend.
Did you join the tour for Gerald's farm walk and talk on Sunday ? He had a very large crowd of children and adults.
Yes leveling blocks are an asset on these Devon hills but nothing beats the view when sited on those pitches.
We do hope to see you here again one day.

The pasties are amazing as well! If you have kids, make sure you go in the farm tour as well! Please always be aware of future pitch sizes when camping with your tent being 8.2 m our pitches and many others are 7.6 sq, luckily we could allocate an extra pitch f.o.c. but being a bank holiday was a challenge to organise.
