Thanks for the review. In response:

1. The pitches are wide enough for carvans. We manage 40 foot campervans. From memory, your caravan was a small two berth.
2. Yes, in mid winter, the ground be boggy.
3. Agreed there is nowhere to park your car aside from the car park at the bottom gate...
4. The field is clay. Sadly you can't drain water through clay, land drain or not.
5. Thanks for acknowledging you knew of the warning that we reserve the right to charge you £35 for the local farmer to tow you out, but ignored the warning.

Levelling with you, we do intend on widening the pitches. This is because even with all the signage about not driving on the wet grass, customers, like you, still do it.

That's not even the bad part. You had a caravan mover. All you needed to do was unhitch and reverse onto the pitch without leaving the road/hardstanding. Better still, ask for help if you're struggling.

What you actually did was drive forward and backward on saturated grass for about half an hour with a caravan attached. You created the biggest mess I have ever seen in 6 years of running this site. It took exactly two tonnes of sand to repair. As to being 18 inches of mud, that says it all. You were up to your axles because you dug yourself in and have absolutely no experience of driving off road (not that you needed to).

I wouldn't mind, but after dragging you out, you didn't apologise, say thank you or anything. You just left chunks of wood about that you'd tried to dig yourself out with. You did repeatedly say that you thought you would be okay as you had a 4x4.

For reference, we haven't charged you a recovery fee, nor for the damage to the grass.

You have changed our mind about fencing off the camping field.

Thanks for the feedback.

There is lighting where the pot wash sinks are but not above you. There is also a shelter over it, but it doesn't extend over the whole area outside the loo block. A couple of campers have suggested we add more lighting there and we will consider it. It's just that we also get other campers saying that they don't like the bright lights. Can't win really.

As to mot meeting the owners on site, I popped up each day and worked on site. It's mid - November so I won't knock on your caravan door and chin wag whilst you lose all the heat. I am around if you need me.

As to the rain, yes, it's mid November, in England, in a caravan. Good job we have hardstandings eh?

As to the single track flooded lane. Legally, it's not single track as I was informed by the council, but granted, there are tight spots and passing areas as you say. Most caravanners/campers are more than competent to navigate the roads and have no issues. Also, it's a rural site. There are plenty of sites on the main road if you prefer. As to the road being flooded, again, it's mid November, in England and we've just had a nationwide storm....
