This is a first-class camp site and it’s very difficult to pick many faults.

I guess it’s out of the way and in the middle of nowhere and to get anywhere it’s important you have a car.

Nearest place is Sidmouth at about 20 minutes with Exmouth, Dawlish Warren and Dawlish being around 40 mins away.

The site itself it clean and well kept with toilets and showers being extremely nice.

It caters mainly for caravans and motor homes with electric hookups for around 10 tents but there is a huge field for non electric hookups.

There’s a small club which is nice and that serves food too but it is small.

I’d say it does cater for small children with a tiny park for them to play on but that’s it.

It’s not the site for children from 10 years old I’d say. There’s not much to entertain them but there is a lively nature walk.

All-in-all I high recommend it.

Not a great deal to be honest.

A couple of the locks in the toilets and and showers in both mens and womens didn’t work correctly with two not locking at all so they need fixing.

The only other thing I’d say is that each pitch on the electrical hookup section could do with a wooden table and benches like one of the pitches had. That would be useful.

Fabulous fully serviced pitch. Shower block had fantastic facilities and was immaculately clean. Onsite shop with lots of essentials and local produce. Loved the onsite pub, tasty food and live music what more could you want. Will visit again.

Service at a high level.
Bathrooms clean and tidy. I recommend for a nice rest.
A lot of land for long of walking with family and dog.

Receptionist are always welcoming and friendly, nothing is ever a problem, if I need to arrive early it’s never an issue, they also know which area of the site I like to be in unless Iv requested different. Just a genuinely quiet peaceful campsite to spend a few nights on, facilities are pleasant and easy to find. Pitches are also mostly level so more than easy to hitch up, have kept coming back for over a year and will continue to do so!

Signal isn’t ideal here i normally only get 1 bar of signal so makes it hard to communicate with family as im a young solo traveller, paid for their WiFi but didn’t reach to my pitch so constantly dropped in and out and was a waste of money really.

Maiden trip for one mum, two teens (14 & 13) and a dog in our campervan and awning and it was great.

Pitch was a fab size. Plenty of room to set up and EHU. Fresh water taps dotted around the site too.

Toilets and shower blocks clean and attached washing up stations helpful (as we had forgotten a washing up bowl)

Clubhouse was smaller than expected but didn't stop everyone enjoying the entertainment whilst having a drink or some food.

The games room with a pool table was a nice suprise. It offered another option to break up the day in the rainy whether.

The woodland walk and dog walking fields were lovely, and our dog lived having lots of new smells to investigate. Generally the site is in a great location for beautiful walks on the moors, or a short drive to the coast.

The shop in reception is not extensive, but stocks all the essentials, and the play park (aimed at younger children under 12) looked like fun.

Overall, the staff were friendly, and the site was clean and tidy.

Unfortunately we had to leave earlier than expected due an accident (deep cut on finger) that required a trip to Exmouth Hospital.

Although staff in reception were very helpful by providing the address and postcode for the hospital, and offering a bandage from their first aid kit to help stem the bleed, as a single parent, (and the person with the injury) and after quite significant blood loss, it used all my energy trying to unattach the awning, collapse the pop top in the van and make it driveable and navigate 2 teens (who are on the spectrum and did not want to stay on site alone) and a dog to the hospital.

By the time I had returned with stitches, it was easier to just pack up the rest of the awning and go home which made me sad as I was having a lovely time, despite the intermittent rain.

It would have been great if there had been someone who could have offered some help, no matter how small, but I appreciate that everywhere is short staffed.

Despite this freak accident, I would still revisit...but with a much better first aid kit on board the van!

The showers were amazing, underfloor heating and you could control the temperature of the water, also very clean.
You could also visit the sister site 15 mins away which had amazing facilities for the kids.

The little roads leading through the site were gravel and uneven so not good for your car suspension, if these were tarmac then a perfect site with friendly staff and lovely food in the restaurant

Peace and quiet and no nightclub booming to the small hours.
All staff we encountered from check in to hospitality to cleaners and maintainance were friendly and approachable
