Host was brilliant, friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Fire pits and roaming kids cats and hens tell you to stop, get out the car and relax. The pod is cosy and warm for less resilient camper! A great place to stop for a night or 2 when travelling north south east or west!

No me gustó: Feel like the advert could be a bit clearer. Important to note fire pits are only available in Deluxe XL pitches - that will be obvious to you if you read about about the Deluxe XL pitches, but not if you only click on the Standard pitch section. We didn’t need an XL pitch so didn’t click on that advert, but would have been happy to pay more for the fire and picnic table, had we realised. The football area is also quite small and located immediately next to a pod, so it feels a bit like you’re encroaching on their space if you use it. There are plenty of other spaces for kids to run around however.

Decent place with OK facilities, only if you can actually use it. We had a simple disposable BBQ out and were told by the owners you can't grill there as it is damaging the grass (grass that will grow back), so moved it on to one of the fire pits where it sat slightly more friendly to the underlying grass, and were told we cannot use it either as that or the adjacent tables to sit down at the Campsite were for people paying more ie. using built up tents for longer stays (when most of them were just empty). We paid for a pitchup and believed use of site facilities described on site incl. use of the tables!
Unfortunately we did not read reviews before, as someone else described the owners behaved "unfriendly" to them. This went beyond just unfriendly as she kept chiming I am putting out this BBQ (getting water)... Seemed a little keen to stop us having dinner (there is no restaurant, or another food facility nearby).
Marketed as an Eco Campsite it did not have any waste recycling facility unfortunately, the word glamping had been rather liberally used with just one pod on the site that seemed closed. Overall an unpleasant experience down to behaviour... This summer had couple of great trips to other nearby campsites from Glasgow where the scenery, environment and people made it a so much better experience. Definitely not going back or recommending this to anyone for our ruined dining experience on the site.

I will leave the same reply I left your review on Google.. Thank you for your review, we appreciate the fact that people take the time to leave a review but do not however take the time to read the booking terms and conditions, site rules and information.
You booked a standard pitch. This does not come with an allocated bench fire pit. These are specifically for the deluxe pitches and our accommodation. We, like all sites have a few rules, one of them is that all bbq’s or firepits must be raised off the ground so as not to burn the grass. (Burnt grass - despite what you claim- does not simply “grow back” it requires returfing at this stage in the season as we like to keep the site presentable for customers.) This rule is stated in our terms and conditions and here is also a sign on the side of the toilet block - the side facing where you were.
You decided that you would just move on up to one of our bell tents and use facilities that you had not booked or paid for, you then lit your bbq on the grass and burnt 2 large sections of grass. There was no circumstance that I was going to let you continue to callously damage my property any further and had you not moved the bbq onto the fire pit it would indeed have been extinguished. Your attitude quite frankly was your downfall, not only did you not give two hoots that’s you had damaged my property you did not see why you could not just continue to use something you had not booked. When you go camping it is up to you to establish if it is a suitable place for you to camp, and to bring equipment suitable for your needs and at least consider how you are to prepare food and feed yourselves during your stay, if you have come ill prepared that is not our responsibility, I am definitely not in the business of preventing people having dinner or giving people an unpleasant experience.
No where on pitch up does it say that you can use facilities you have not paid for.
For your information our pod is always available when the campsite is open, it had customers in it, they obviously wanted some private time so had the curtains drawn.
With regards to recycling. Our recycling is done off site- this is because we found some campers we’re not abiding by the recycling rules ( yes other people don’t follow rules also) and this was contaminating the clean recycling and causing our waste contractor, and us problems, hence the single bin. Eco is because we are completely off grid - this is clearly explained in our site information.
I was perfectly polite to you, despite your wife being rude and obnoxious, however there comes a point where blatant disregard of site rules and non abatement of your destructive action requires a bit more bluntness and enforcement of rules. Obviously by your comments you consider this to have been totally unjustified. Quite frankly your lack of ownership of the issues that caused this situation is quite astounding for adults of your age.
