just got back from an amazing week away at ashbourne woods. The campsite is incredible, has plenty of room for families to play games, go on walks through the woods and is close to so many activities and places to see. the staff are very helpful the shop has everything you’d need and the facilities are clean and well maintained. I couldn’t recommend anywhere better, absolutely loved it!

5. REALLY spacious woodland pitches.
6. Excellent and helpful staff.
7. Clean and well managed facilities.
8. Really quiet ( noises are drowned-out by rustling leaves).
9. Very near to a nearby hidden gem of a beach, a quaint little town with an excellent gelato shop and Buckfast Abbey.

We loved every minute of our stay considering it rained during our last day that we have to pack up our wet tent. It was muddy, wet, cold and ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!

I just don’t like packing up and really disliked leaving this peaceful woodlands campsite.

Camping with a 9 year old and 12 year old,nice to get away from electronic devices. Well kept site, with option to camp on grass or on the forest floor. Boys loved being in the woods. Each pitch has a firepit, of course that went down well. Toilets immaculate, as were the showers. Gave the impression of wild camping, but with faciities. Friendly helpful staff and small shop. Washing up area with phone charging plugs (if you really have to) About 10 minutes from Totnes.

Location was great and easy to find, the staff/owners are really friendly and cannot do enough for you.
The kids loved camping in the woods. Hot showers never had to Que for anything facilities. Great central location to explore Devon.

My only suggestion would be to modernise the facilities block, for example the showers have nowhere to put you stuff.

Plenty of space to get a real sense of wild and quiet camping. Enjoyed that there is no car around the tents (the car park is behind reception), keeping a relaxed, close-to-nature feel. Simple facilities but all you need is there: free access fridge, freezer, coin-operated washing machine and tumble dryer, basic necessities available for buy at the reception, sheltered area for a picnic in case of rain. Friendly and available staff, plenty of guidance on things to do around. Enjoyed the local pub accessible a 20min walk away which serves excellent food in a beautiful atmosphere. Enjoyed the easy access to Dartmoor.

We booked a pitch with electricity access, but it turned out we should have brought our own cable and plug. It seems this is how it goes most of the time, but we are newbie campers and wished this had been clearly explained when we made the booking. The staff was super helpful in sorting out the situation though. Limited scope for activities without a car.

Lovely site bog plots not really woodland experience of your using electric. Lots of shower and toilet spaces. The washing machine and dryer amazing £1 for 50mins each. Staff very helpful at reception. Good hot clean showers

To quiet. We didn't feel comfortable as a family with teenagers. We were constantly worried about them making to much noise as there is no atmosphere at the site. Felt like you were ok if your face fits and we felt like we didn't. Children were constantly told off for being by campers tents when put exploring the wood we went out allday to avoid being on site. I'd say more recommend for couples or older campers. Certainly not if you have active children. But we abided by the rules quiet at 10pm but other campers were up until 1pm taking very loudly. Found the price expensive can get better and more equipped for older kids for the price.
