Beautiful quiet site with immaculate facilities

Jul 2026

Liked We spent 8 nights camping here, tent pitch with electric hook up. Really sheltered from the strong westerlies that often come in off the coast, yet only about 15 minutes from the nearest sandy beach. The site is beautifully maintained. Andy is busy throughout the day, constantly keeping the beautifully decorated showers, toilets and washing up area absolutely immaculate, also he maintains the grass walk through areas and pitches. It is a gorgeous quiet and peaceful site. This is perfect for those who love peace and being at one with nature. There are no artificial lights on the camping field so it is perfect for star gazing. So nice to stay somewhere with like minded people who enjoy the peace and darkness of a fabulously beautiful site like this with 5 star amenities. Bring a stash of £1 coins for the showers - a quid gives you 5 minutes shower time but you can put more in all at once and it ups the time in 5 minute increments... if you're washing long hair, for instance. We loved our stay here. If you like old fashioned camping in calm, quiet surroundings with spotlessly clean amenities... without being bombarded by solar lights...then this is definitely the site to go to. Andy cannot do enough for you; he keeps a stash of £1 coins, he has disposable BBQs to sell to you as well. Camp at Wild Meadows for a fabulous relaxing break and enjoy all the amazing beaches nearby too 😃

Great traditional campsite, lovely views, lovely staff

Jun 2025

Liked This is a very quiet campsite on a working farm. The 3 camping fields are actually hayfields so it really is part of the farm. The facilities are perfectly adequate, there are 2 showers in a separate block and a shower next to the men's loos, also another shower in the ladies. The showers, sinks and loos are all clean. There's also a small kichen with an upright fridge/freezer and also a fridge, so it's really handy for campers who don't want to keep shopping for supplies daily. In the kitchen there is a pay-per-use kettle and also a microwave, these both take 20p coins so take a supply. Be aware that there are no facilities in the lower fields except a portaloo in field 2. Anyone camping there would need to shower etc at the main block in the top field. The view over the bay is lovely and it is only about 10 minutes drive from Cardigan (Aberteifi) for supplies, so it's really handy. Mwnt Beach is a half hour walk or so along the coastal path on the cliff tops, we spotted seals and again, gorgeous views of the sea and cliffs. Anna and Andrew are very kind...when we needed to move our very large tent because of the strong winds, they volunteered to help, so it took much less time and we weren't worn out at the end of it! Really lovely people and always ready with a smile and a wave. This is a traditional campsite for people who want to experience first hand the peace and beauty of this area, it's not somewhere you would choose if you want to pitch up and start playing loud music and making a row. It's also perfect for star gazing so please be kind to others and leave the solar lights in the cupboard! Be aware it's just off the cliff (though set very well back!) so it is exposed to the wind. Campers with larger tents need to take that into consideration and pitch off to the sides ...which we did not do at first lol

Lovely site. Excellent staff. Good sized pitches. Very clean

Sept 2023

Liked We stayed on Beggars Field with EHU and were happy with our pitch. It was relatively flat and also spacious for our large tent. The site is high up with lovely views. It is a very peaceful site and geared towards relaxing and being generally chilled out. The night skies are amazing, you can stargaze here to your heart's content on clear nights! It was nice to see that people hadn't got solar lights, especially madly flashing ones, outside their tents or vans which spoils the ability to see the skies properly. It was stunning. The facilities are spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Had good experiences with both reception staff members we dealt with, the guy who helped us plan our walks and days out was great, really helpful. The washing up area is indoors in a lovely clean space. It's a small compact site but never felt cramped because of the way it's laid out into individual areas. Really liked it here.

Disliked Sadly the beautiful shower block facilities, which are modern and immaculately clean, are let down by the truly terrible showers. The cubicles are a great size but the water is so hot that it hurts and you can't control the temperature. There's no variable temperature control. It's bordering on scalding. Washing and rinsing my longish thick hair was actually painful. You wouldn't be able to take a baby or toddler in there, it'd be way too hot for their skin. They're also push button showers and they're on literally for 2 - 5 seconds maximum. I understood why they were so empty all the time. There are no plugs in the sinks and the water comes out like a water cannon, so washing your face is really difficult and the entire area just gets soaked, including yourself. Such a shame it's so bad as they're so modern and clean! The guy on reception was lovely when we told him about it and said he'd pass it on so I hope it gets sorted.

Really nice site. Spotless. Lots of handy extras. Highly recommend

Sept 2022

Liked Loved the campers kitchen. Lots of clean pots and pans. Use of induction hob for 30 minutes was £1… ample time to make pasta and pesto or any other quick meal. Kettle and toaster. A seating area with dining table. Also lots of USB charging points in the kitchen for backpackers phones, who don't have electric hook ups. Liked the main large shower block which was exceptionally clean and well kept at all times. The user controls the shower temperature on this site, which is great. We hate preset showers cos they're always way too hot. Handy loos and shower in the camping field which were raised up and had a covered decked area so you weren't trailing mud into and out of the loos. Very peaceful site and really close to the river. Kirkby Stephen is literally on the doorstep so very handy for supplies. It's also great for exploring Yorkshire, Cumbria and Durham. The site is small, clean, well cared for and the staff are really friendly and always have a smile. We stayed on EHU camping pitch.

Lovely small,basic site.Convenient for sight seeing.Clean facilities

Jul 2021

Liked Nicely kept small and basic site. Clean facilities. Very quiet at night as, unlike many sites, there are no fast roads nearby. Ideal if you like peace, quiet and a more back to basics approach to camping. Nice proprietor who leaves you alone but is also friendly and approachable. A great site to view the night sky as no large towns nearby, so no light pollution. Owls at night and buzzards during the day. Hayle, Penzance and St Ives are 15 minutes away in the car so it's extremely convenient. BBQ is permitted and a slab provided so you don't scorch the grass. Lovely little site!

Disliked We would have given 5 stars but for one thing which we found odd. There is only 1 washbasin in the toilet block and we felt there should be at least 2 or 3 washbasins in the loos ...if someone is washing then someone else can't wash their hands after using the facilities. You could wash and brush your teeth at the kitchen sink area, but we felt that most people wouldn't want to wash in a sink that had contained greasy dishes and, vice versa, You would not want to wash your dishes in a sink that people have brushed their teeth then spat in. But this was our only niggle and we had a fabulous stay.

Great little back-to-basics campsite, very friendly owners. Lovely!

Sept 2020

Liked Really nice little back-to-basics campsite on a working farm. Lovely farm shop and the farmer and his family and also staff are genuinely nice people who are very approachable. Clean loos. Excellent showers that are hot, powerful and FREE! Make sure you don't have a shower while the cows are being milked (and they DO tell you this when you arrive) as the water pressure drops but only during a 45 minute duration, once in the morning and once in the evening. Just makes your stay more authentic on the farm! Chickens running round the camping field, it's a real feel good factor. The top camping field has nice level pitches. Great place to get away from it all and the road isn't busy at night. You can hire firepits. Fabulous little holiday and we'll be back 🙂.
