Whitchurch, Shropshire, England
Pool view non-electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked Decent level pitches.
Toilet/shower block spotless (loos might get a tad busy during peak periods as only 2)
Adult only, so peaceful & friendly.
Whitchurch is a lovely Town and about 35 min walk to the Centre.
Cafe on site is excellent and caters for 'Gluten Free' diets, which is brilliant.
Lovely hosts, freindly & welcoming
Disliked More of an observation that dislike, but the main road can be a tad noisy at times, but doesn't spoil the visit.

Liked Lovely hot showers, clean toilets.
Order breakfast bread/croissants
Well spaced pitches, and lovely views
Friendly & helpful owners
Great WiFi
Intermarche a 10 min straight drive.
Restaurant/Boulangerie/Butchers near the site (drive needed), but didn't try them.
If you order the baguette for the morning, its HUGE !!
Disliked Nothing really, but could possibly benefit from some loo's not as part of the showers. Minor gripe, no major issue

Liked Firstly the site is easy to find just off the main A road. The front 2 fields are all for camping, so there may be some, road noise. We were pitched behind one of the lodges, and was pretty quiet. Our fear was that the lodge would be noisy, especially as there is a hot tub outside. Thankfully there were 2 families with young kids, so evenings were very quiet. Can imagine noisy if not...the field itself we were on had hook up right next to the van, along with a tap. Our field has space for I would say no more than 3 campers, as all other units were either Lodges/Seasonal pitches, which when we went were unoccupied so again, peaceful. The loos were very close, very clean, but only one flushable loo in Gents (made mornings busy). Shower was free but didn't use it. Lovely walk down to the river (2 mins). Lovely touch to have an 'honesty fridge/freezer, which has burgers/sausages/eggs available. Plenty hot water fo washing up as well (under cover) .We walked to the 7 Stars in the next village, about 30 min walk, mostly on the road, but able to get on the verge when traffic passed (wouldn't do it in the dark tho). Just be mindful they only do food in the evenings as its a Community Pub. Lovely pub and very friendly.
Overall we had a very quiet restful weekend, but can imagine facilities & noise could be an issue if everyone was there at the same time.
Probably wouldn't return, only because we really like a bit more 'away from' all camping.

Liked If you want 'off grid', peace & quiet and beautiful surroundings...can't beat it.
We arrived on Bank Holiday Monday in a spell of glorious weather, and had one of the fields to ourselves.
We were met by the owner, who was nothing short of superb, and made sure we were happy, knew where to go and assured us if we needed anything, just call.
We were blessed with 3 days of glorious weather which was a real bonus, and didn't stray from our vans, as it was some R&R that was needed, though there are plenty of walks to do from the site.
OK, so for those wanting, toilets/showers/EHU etc, this is NOT the place for you.
Yes there is a 'porta loo' on site, but is for everyones use (though it was spotless when we used it), there is water on site as well, but thats pretty much it. We knew this before we arrived, so find it strange some reviews refer to 'lack of facilities'
You get a phone signal, but no wi/fi, which was fie for us.
This is basic camping, and what we like, we had 3 days of listening to sheep, birds and a train in the distance....never heard another camper...bliss.
Brilliant summer campsite.
Disliked Nothing.
We knew what it was before we arrived so prepared & aware.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Stayed the one night in our campervan
Site itself is level, well spaced, close to hook ups, clean and looked after.
Toilet facilities, yes are basic, but perfectly functional and clean.
Recycling available.
We ate in the Pub in the evening, and found the place, friendly, warm and a good selection of local beers.
Foodwise....WOW ! All 4 of us had different dishes and each one was superb.
Cannot rate the Faggots highly enough, AND they are made in the Pub by the Landlord from locally sourced products (as is everything else).
Landlord & Landlady, very friendly and want to ensure you are happy with both stay and Pub. Food alone, would bring us back.....
Disliked OK, yes, this site is right next to a busy A road, which we knew when we booked, and yes there is a lot of road noise, which does continue through the night, so just be aware.
Not a dislike, but just a tip, when leaving, its much easier to go out via the Pub car park, rather than the entrance you came in, as much easier to see.

Liked All facilities available, EHU/water. Toilets/shower, waste disposal
Very quiet at night
Dedicated hardstanding campervan pitches.
Helpful owner, we needed some levellers to raise the front of the van, and he helped us with some wood to do this. Yes I know I should have some anyway, so will.
We stopped just the one night at the last minute, so happy to get in somewhere.
Site itself is very well laid out with a mix of statics, campers and caravans.
Seen some negative comments over the loo's/showers
OK, they probably could do with a spruce up, but they were clean (didn't smell), and lights worked as they should.
Not necessarily somewhere we would stay for a length of time, it is very remote, which is its bonus. Would certainly use again if ever we were looking for a stop off.

Liked Clean, tidy, quiet, well looked after.
Pub on site which does food.
Rural village location so quiet site.
Ability to book online.
VFM
Disliked WiFi non existent on site but this is due to rural location, no fault of the site.
Not really a dislike, but on arrival no clue as to what to do (as pub wasn't open), but thankfully someone on site sorted us out, maybe a poster or something ?
