The pitches were so small and tightly packed together that issues we'd probably have overlooked instead became unforgivable.
We had children from other families playing very close to our tent, tripping over our guy ropes, and kicking balls into our tent. We had drunk teenagers and their parents with loud music, swearing, and generally shouting well past the 9.15pm "quiet time". There were enormous puddles of water. A lot of dogs barking. On multiple occasions, I needed to open the entrance gate for visitors, because there were no staff to help.
When we complained, or asked for help, the response from reception was inflexible, curt and unhelpful. They did nothing to deal with any of the above problems. We felt pretty unwelcome the entire trip.
The on-site shop was barely open, and had little for sale anyway. The on-site restaurant closed early, and was basically someone throwing cheap food in a deep fat fryer and charging you a fortune.
Additionally, it's close to a main road so there's a constant background of car noise.
This was a really disappointing campsite, with little to recommend it if you're travelling as a small family.

Thank you for your review, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us.
We are pleased that you enjoyed using our facilities and found them clean and of a high standard, we are thrilled that the children enjoyed using our play area.
Our pitches on Sandy Acres are 9m x 10metres, giving plenty of room for a tent/caravan and car, unfortunately if you have a large size tent this will obviously leave you less room to relax on.
Our security go round twice on an evening to check that everything is in order, they found no problems to be concerned about, we also never received any other complaints from other visitors.
We do not open the gates for visitors, they are all given the barrier code upon check-in, if they are visiting yourselves then it is up to yourselves to guide them through the barriers. If you read previous reviews it states that my staff are very friendly and helpful, we like to assist in what ever way we can.
Our shop is open until 3pm daily, but over the may bank holiday (Witsen Week) our shop/reception was open until 4pm daily. We stock the necessary item as there is a co op shop only 5 10 minutes walk from the site.
Norfolk Nibbles were open from 4.30 - 8.30pm Friday/Saturday evening, and people only say great things about their food, it is cooked fresh upon ordering.
Unfortunately we cannot please everyone, but it appears that most of our visitors ( and we was full for the weekend) enjoyed their stay with us.
