The location is perfect to visit bergerac - the walk out of the campsite along the river is beautiful and you are just 10 mins away from town. The people at reception are super nice too

There are not many shower and toilet facilities and they are very narrow, dark and not very clean. You need to bring your own paper and soap to wash your hands too - we always pack some just in case

We had a friendly welcome from Caroline & Jerome and a pitch with plenty of space. We used this site to break our journey to the Med, rather than for a long stay. It is well situated for Bergerac town centre, shops and the train station which we used for a day trip to Bordeaux. Our visit coincided with local public holidays which was good fun as there was music on both nights (which could be heard from the site).

The site is right next to the river and there are a lot of weeds by the riverbank that constrain views. It is sandy underfoot (probably floods in winter) and after rain certain areas of the pitches flooded.

The toilets and showers definitely need money spent on upgrading. They are functional, but not very pleasant to use.

Pitch was lacking and we were packed in to an area not really suitable for a campervan and tent. Other pitches looked suitable. Appeared to accommodate homeless, presumed to be locals one of which was misusing substances. Felt very uneasy.

The organisation was poor. Arrive between
11am and 6.30 pm. We arrive at 1pm to find Reception closes at 12 until 3pm. They do send lots of do’s and dont’s and way down at the bottom it does say this. A simple text with the barrier code and pitch number would have solved the problem. Reception opened at 3.15 and by this time there was a long queue of campers waiting. Steps to showers, toilet emptying set up unhygienic.
The washing machine isn’t coin op so unsure to use without paying.

Friendly reception spoke good English so my pigeon French wasn't necessary. Great location a 10 min walk by the river into the stunning town of Bergerac. Facilities OK

Pitches not clearly defined. Sat having a cuppa on arrival only for an elderly French couple to jump in between us and the motorhome next door and with a friendly bonjour they drove by and parked there when it most definitely wasn't a pitch. I had watched them moving around a few times, not sure if they were residents as they had plants in tubs with them?
This really annoyed me as we then didnt have room to put our sun canopy out, but my husband said to let it go as we were in the shade and only there overnight 😊 Not sure if people were living in some of the tents which looked a bit worse for wear, within 5 mins of arriving there was lots of arguing which resulted in the police coming. Thankfully it was just an overnight stay for us- think I slept with one eye open!

We stayed an extra night as we loved the site and its location right next to the river. For once, the 10 minute walk to the centre really meant 10 minutes.

Dispite previous comments to the contrary, there is a ground floor disabled access toilet.

Muddy pitch, although dry when we were there.
