Liked: Good size pitch water and mains right by pitches so not having to walk far for these facilities was great. Grass was well kept and site tidy overall.
Disliked: The duration of our stay only one of our party managed to get a hot shower the whole duration, and this was at 2300. The camp site states that they reason they are running our of hot water is due to people leaving the taps on. However I went at 6am in the morning in the hope to get a shower as at this time the majority of the campsite was still sleeping and still no hot water. I feel that the 2 showers if we're hot would have been OK, but there were alot of people trying to use until everytime they were cold. When I checked in, I wasn't told any of the facilities on site of location just the direction to my pitch. I feel the site is good as a basic site but dont expect any hot water.

We apologised to everyone as we have had issues this week, we have bought a new boiler today and this will resolve the situation.
In the three years we have been here, this has never happened and unfortunately it was out of our control.

Liked: Level pitches, friendly staff, surroundings, lake and wildlife
Disliked: no shops or pubs within walking distance, spiders and webs in showers and toilets
Thankyou Chris for the review, there are two pubs and a farm shop that you can walk to, they are about 40 minutes or a three minute drive, this is highlighted on pitch up
Spiders and webs can be got rid of and be back within hours, due to being semi rural
A great choice for families and those who like a relaxing time

Liked: We booked Blackbrook as 2 family groups for a long weekend, the site was great and had everything we needed, really helpful and friendly owners, large pitches, loads of room for the kids to play, clean facilities with onsite shop and fishing. The site has also got a great area for dogs about 100m from the entrance. We will definitely be coming back here.

Location reasonable.Disliked: Toilets ran out of paper.
Toilet block closed for 30 minutes per day.
Lots of pitches seem crammed in together.
Toilet and shower block among the dirtier ones I’ve used on a campsite.
Steep slope on all pitches including motorhome pitches.
We always apologise to campers that have not had a good stay with us and try to resolve any issues, but we did everything to help and assist you but it was apparent that you did not want to be at the camp.
When the toilet rolls ran out I was outside waiting to get into the men's as you spoke to me and took the toilet rolls in for me
The toilets are not closed for 30 minutes, if we are cleaning and anybody needs to use the facilities, we stop and allow them in
There was times when the floor was dirty but they are cleaned four times a day and checked hourly,
There is a slope on our site, as we are in the Derbyshire Dales, it is not steep and you were given levellers, it does explain in the site description on pitch up, that levellers may be needed.

Liked: Lovely area and tranquil.
The site its self was beautiful around the fishing ponds amenities were clean and the staff were very welcoming.Limited phone signal and internet which I personally prefer… bliss
Disliked: Cold showers they do have signs saying turn the taps off because they are running out of hot water but obviously people aren’t I went for a shower it was bloody freezing.
We went and got bottled water as it had a strong smell and taste of chlorine… I think the pipes may have been cleaned?

We apologise for the cold shower, but the plumber has been in and this shouldnt happen again, but when the hot taps are left on in the amenities, the boiler is empty so has to reheat the water again, which affects campers who are waiting for a shower
