  • Family site 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Ettelbruck
  • Half an hour's drive from walking routes in Little Switzerland
  • Bistro open all day for meals, drinks and homemade cakes
It’s a well-known fact that calories consumed on holiday don’t count. And it's just as well at Camping Ettelbruck, as this is a site that takes its food pretty seriously… Get your day off to a tiptop start by picking up the bread rolls you ordered the night before, and having a spot of breakfast in the bistro. Later in the day, call back in or a coffee and a slice of homemade cake; come evening, the bistro terrace beckons – there are cocktails for sipping, and you can pick your dinner from a wide-ranging menu that includes several options for veggie types. Feeling inspired to cook for yourself? Head over to the communal veg and herb garden and see what you can create with your haul. If at any point you feel active, various sporting activities including a volleyball court, basketball court and badminton net are around the site, and there's a water playground and trampolines for kids. If you need a bit of downtime, or if the weather’s a tad less than desired, retreat indoors to watch films or borrow books in the recreation room. At peak times you can join with your neighbours in a programme of activities for all ages – archery, baking and playing the didgeridoo are among the eclectic mix of workshops offered to guests. Organised excursions are also on the cards if there’s enough demand, so hook up with fellow guests for a nice easy day out.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Peace and quiet, lay out was good. Loved the large pitch and ability to choose our own which had hedging for privacy. The pool and facilities were very clean. The fresh bread daily was great and so was the restaurant next door.

Disliked: Only dislike was having to remember toilet paper if using the site facilities.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Great site with pick your own pitch, as it was the heatwave we managed to find a shaded one. Dog friendly site, walks from the entrance uphill into the forest (cycle route too). Restaurant/bar on site, friendly staff, town 15 minutes walk down the hill. Beautiful countryside all around. Showers and toilets clean.

Electric grass tent pitch (backpacker, no cars)

Liked: Locationin walking distance of town. Clean and attractive site. On-site bistro has simple but good food. Great service from the staff.

Disliked: I could not get my European pin electrical connectors to connect with the site power. They were very loose in the socket, so not compatible. Steep walk from town to the site.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Fantastic camp site. Amazingly clean as well. Toilets and showers were spotless! Really impressed. The staff were very friendly. Beach volley ball, ping pong table, slides and swings for kids. Really nice. I would definitely recommend.

Disliked: Electric hook ups were a bit too far away for us to reach from our pitch. So could not use it.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: Cleanliness of shower block although park was only 1/4 occupied.

Disliked: Only Motorhome area was level !! If you have a twin axle check with site as you will need a Motorhome pitch. Noisey groups in tents 2100/ 0100, no respect. Separate Camping and touring areas would be best.

Local attractions

Getting around from Camping Ettelbruck is easy – it’s a 15-minute walk to the centre of town and the station, which has services connecting to the rest of the country. If you can’t face the walk, the city bus passes the site five times a day and will transport your bikes for free. A good way to get around the area is by bike – you can hire them on site and you’ll be given an information pack with details of some good local routes. One recommendation is to head south towards Colmar-Berg (six kilometres away) where you can visit the Château de Berg and then cool off at the Nordpool, a waterpark with paddling pools and waterslides. Plenty of other cycle routes start from the site or nearby. Site staff can also recommend walking trails starting from the site, or you can drive for half an hour to reach the Müllerthal region, known as Little Switzerland for its range of scenic trails.
