Surrounded by arable land, with undulating green hills in the distance, Yurta Tent Glamping is a peaceful retreat in the countryside of central Italy's Marche region. And the ace up its sleeve? The site is about five minutes’ drive from the coast, with excellent sea views. So whether you want to practise your favourite watersports, relax in the shade of a tree, keep low-level active with the occasional yoga class (and not just any yoga, but yoga in a hammock) or hike on the slopes of Monte Conero (40 minutes’ drive), this is a winning spot. Although ball games are not appreciated (sorry, budding soccer stars), there are other ways to keep the kids entertained, including the promise of frequent encounters with the local wildlife (foxes, barn owls and assorted birds) and, of course, the beach, with its gentle slope into the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea. Each airy yurt is kitted out with a double bed, rugs on the floor and an electric kettle, plus an outdoor table with chairs for alfresco dining. There is no kitchen, but you’re welcome to bring your own camping stove. It’s well worth lingering over dinner (maybe nursing a glass of the local Verdicchio wine…) until darkness falls, so you can marvel at the spectacular night sky. In addition to a toilet/shower block, the site has a washing-up area, a communal fridge and a washing machine (on request).

Posizione perfetta per visitare la riviera del Conero e l'entroterra Marchigiano.La cortesia e la presenza costante ma mai invadente di Barbara ci hanno fatte sentire a casa dal primo momento.Tenda spaziosa, pulita e molto fresca alla sera. Esperienza stupenda e super adatta ai bambini.

Local attractions

The sandy beach in Senigallia (20 minutes’ drive) is renowned for its soft, velvet-like quality. Take a selfie against the Rotonda a Mare, an Art Deco venue at the end of the pier, then stroll (like the locals do) along the Corso II Giugno, looking at stylish shops and stopping for an ice cream or an Aperol Spritz at a terrace café. Climb up to the 11th-century Cattedrale di San Ciriaco in Ancona (half an hour) for far-reaching views of the coastline and the lively harbour. From there, head to the Passetto area, overlooked by the elegant Monumento ai Caduti memorial and with a beach accessed via a long staircase surrounded by greenery. The Grotte di Frasassi complex (40 minutes) features a network of underground caves and passages lined with spectacular rock formations. Wrap up warm (the temperature is a rather chilly 14°C, even in summer) and check out monumental halls like the 'Gran Canyon', home of a structure with stalactite pipes resembling an organ.

Admission is only permitted after registering at reception.
All guests spending the night at the park must present their ID at the reception desk and sign registration forms.
