General

  • On the Riviera Dei Fiori with spectacular Alps views
  • Outdoor pool, paddling pool, sun terrace, playground and pétanque
  • Restaurant overlooking the pools and serving traditional food

Settling down for a peaceful stay in Imperia's Nervia valley, among chestnuts, eucalyptus and mimosa trees, on a hillside site with spectacular views of the surrounding Alps… sound good? Bag a break at family-run Camping Delle Rose, just over the border from France in a quiet corner of Liguria.

The family has added a summer pool and a paddling pool for dips on hot days, a sun terrace for basking at before and after, a playground for the kids, and a pétanque court popular for a spot of competition at the end of a sunny day.

Overlooking the pools, the restaurant has regional food as its main focus, dishing up traditional dinners like pesto pasta, homegrown Taggiasche olives and rabbit ragu. Pizzas (always a topping option with the kids) are available from the woodfired oven.

A hidden gem in the hills serving great pizza and wine08/03/2020

Very rural location, very friendly staff, amazing views, pools and facility areas were Spotless. Local wine was delicious and pizzas were very traditional. Big pitches with mountain views.

On site shop was great and even had a few camping essentials!

Minor building works showed that it’s going to get even better. (Which they apologised for on our arrival, delayed due to covid of course)

    Disliked:

Food choices were only pizza (good pizza though!) and no lunch available.

Hidden gem...quite pitch which is big on the front main road, however not a busy road. Perfect sanitary area with everything you can need.

Cool pool area not busy in September. Lovely to be able to have drinks around the pool.

Bar reasonably priced with lovely staff who went out of their way to provide service, little things like crisps with beers ...very welcome

We loved Maria who was in every way so sweet, a little darling. Even when she didn’t understand our accents she found away to communicate. Loved her !!

Top points to the manager lady who spoke so many languages and was so much fun.

The food was fabulous Lasagne was amazing so worth the set meal price. Oh my husbands favourite Ice Coffee with Baileys .

Short to Ventimiglia the market Friday is a must, also it’s a fab town with a new Roman ruin.

Felt like we were in a carpark. Pitch was right beside the road and everyone looked into our tent. The pitch was also very small. The pool is small but nice however be aware that all of the locals use it so is extremely busy.
No toilet paper or soap provided in the toilets which is not nice.
Had to wait 15 mins to pay for dinner as person was on the phone to an agreed customer!

The epitome of wonderful friendly customer service. Everybody working there was lovely and the whole site had a lovely atmosphere to it, everyone would say good morning as they past you, really nice.

The food for dinner was lovely as the restaurant is superb.

    Disliked:

The pitch and the parking are separate rather than being able to park right next to my tent. Quite a drive from the motorway but good if you want to spend time in the local valley.

Local attractions

Take your pick of beach, mountain and rural holidays: this peaceful Liguria area is also only about 10 kilometres from the coast, in Italian countryside dotted with medieval villages and fortified towns, castles and churches, busy local food markets and local cafés and small restaurants.

The site is also 12 miles from San Remo, a popular place on the Italian Riviera famed for its summer flower markets, the Milan–San Remo cycling classic and the Sanremo Music Festival, the singing competition that inspired the Eurovision Song Contest (whether that's a fab or a naff thing depends on your own individual taste…).

Around the site's local municipality of Isolabona, hike the Passo del Cane mountain pass three kilometres away or tackle the peak of Monte Bignone, near San Remo in the San Romolo Natural Park. Coastal spots include Capo Mortola, Capo Verde, Cap Martin and Cap Rognoso; Monaco, Monte Carlo and the French Riviera are under 30 kilometres away.
