  • In a walkers' paradise near the Black Forest
  • Pool, play area, sports pitch and large lawn for sunbathing
  • Firepit and barbecue area as well as site restaurant
Stay fit, stay active at Camping Erbenwald near the Baden-Württemberg town of Neubulach, for there are all sorts of energetic options here for all sizes – the site is in a walkers' paradise near the gorgeous Black Forest and close to tennis courts and a golf club. On site is an outdoor heated pool with an adjoining paddling pool for energetic youngsters, plus a football pitch and a sports field, table tennis and a play area; you can even wash your car on site should you so wish. No to energetic options? Sorted: you'll also find a large lawn area to stretch out on under the sun, a sun terrace and two recreation rooms. Guests can be as faffed or unfaffed as they want when it comes to food too, by prepping their own at the big firepit and barbecue area and at the cooking and washing-up area, or strolling over to the site restaurant for quick bites or hot meals. The well-stocked shop should see both sorts sorted. The Erbenwald team is rightly proud of its modern amenities too, which include four well-maintained toilet/shower buildings with baby changing facilities and disabled access.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: Not a lot really disappointing.

Disliked: First off it's cash only some warning would be good
You pay for everything separately, shower, electric, Dogs etc.
The bins are miles away
Dog bins are miles away
Site is so busy and crammed
Restaurants is little more than a burger bar
Lady in reception was quite abrupt
Shower cubicles are ridiculously small
I would also like to know how I used 6 euros of electricity overnight no meter readings given
You pay for a shower 50c why are these prices
Why did I pay extra for my dog what facilities do you offer for dogs even the closest poo bin is a good 3 minute walk from reception
Will never visit again if this is the standard of German campsites am not surprised we saw loads of German travellers on our tour of Europe can't wait to get to a decent site!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: The site looked nice, basic but nice enough

Disliked: Gypsy's outside who had thrown rubbish over the fence
No prior communication from the site owner to inform of the situation
Toilets wernt in a great shape having clearly been used by the gypsys
Security gate on one part of the site not the other
Majority of the site is permanent pitches
Electric is charged extra

Electric optional hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked: This is very much a destination site, up at 600m, on the open fields of the Black Forest plateau. You drive an excellent new road up from the valleys, at 300m, to reach the site, which is just outside the small town of Neubulach. Only for keen cyclists.

So you get quiet - no road noise - and dark skies. Also walks into the forest start just a few minutes away.

Also a large swimming pool, which was plenty warm enough when we visited in August.

Very popular with local families, I've people who know the area and want to get away from it all.

Disliked: You do pay slightly higher fees than for some sites, but the quality and seclusion are worth it.

Whilst there is no shop on site, there is a good bar and restaurant, and Neubulach has a good supermarket, which you drive past as you approach the site. Closed Sundays.
