What customers say

A neat, friendly, peaceful spot. Clean loos with hot showers, decent pitches, great location for exploring, plus a lake nearby. Bring your own loo roll, but it’s good value and family-friendly.

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked Clean facilities and right on the lake so a ten second walk for a swim. Very nice girl on reception who could speak really good English.

Disliked Quite tightly packed in so not a great level of privacy.

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked A great little campsite in a great spot to explore. Good facilities, nothing fancy but all we needed for 3 nights - and clean! We had a drink in the bar one evening which was lovely with a surprisingly large range of drinks! The gentleman serving was very welcoming and friendly. The pitches are all a good size. We had a campervan with a sizeable 2 man tent which fitted no problem. It’s pot luck as to weather you get any sun on your pitch. I was a little envious of those that did! There’s information boards with a wealth of info about the local area and facilities but all in French, which is how this campsite feels. Beautifully French. We enjoyed using our basic conversational French, but if you don’t this might not be the place for you!
We spent an afternoon with a delicious lunch in the beautiful Annecy and another afternoon on the beach at Lac du Bourget. Both definitely worth a visit.

Disliked We’d have given a full 10 stars if our arrival
at Reception had been a little more welcoming! The lady was less than warm. We made payment, were shown on the map where our pitch was and that was that! The following morning we went to reception to see if there were baguettes/croissants. The same lady was very abrupt and we then understood you needed to pre order. No problem, but it would have been nice to have been given that information on arrival so we had the chance to order!
Oh and no toilet roll or hand soap in the toilets so go prepared. It wasn’t a problem, we’re just not used to it so constantly came back from the toilets for the paper!! 🤣

Electric optional grass and earth pitch

Liked We really liked this as a base to visit various places and take a walk to the lake shore. The campsite is moderate and quiet, so it suited us, but with that it was also sociable and had good facilities such as the bar and food area.
We really felt welcomed by our hosts, and loved being able to chill out with other campers over a beer and wine.

Local attractions

It has to be the lake first, really – a 20-minute walk gets you to the banks of Lac du Bourget, where you can walk by the water’s edge, and a few minutes more will take you to Plage de Chatillon, a popular spot for swimming, watersports and kids’ games. There are more walks and swims to be had in the Gorges du Sierroz (20 minutes’ drive), or you can take to the waters of the Rhône river with Chanaz Croisières (10 minutes). Away from the water, you may like to stroll through the bamboo at Les Jardins de Lornay (25 minutes) or swing through the trees at Acro’ Aventures Quintal (35 minutes). There are also insights into local history at Musée Gallo-Romain de Chanaz (10 minutes) and Abbaye d’Hautecombe (15 minutes). In Aix-les-Bains (20 minutes), Musée Aqualis will teach you all about the lake’s ecosystem through interactive exhibits; it’s a fun place to visit before a soak in the town’s thermal baths.
