Highly scenic hiking and cycling trails of all sorts network crisscross Marsanne and the surrounding Drôme Provençale region, and with a riding stables 10 kilometres away, exploring the area on horseback is easy here too. Elsewhere, you can take to the waters of the Drôme in a canoe, five kilometres away, while a golf course can be found in Montboucher-sur-Jabron, less than 20 minutes’ pootle away. Kid-friendly attractions include La Fôret de Robin aerial adventure park, two kilometres away, Crocodile Farm in Pierrelatte, and the Train de l'Ardèche, both within an hour’s drive. Kids (and grownups) who like tiny things might also rather like a little trip to spy wee figurines among teeny town scenes at Miniature Provençal Village in Grignan, 40 minutes from base. Several sugary attractions are within easy reach, including the Palace of Sweets, 10 kilometres away at Montélimar, and Cité du Chocolat Valrhona within 50 minutes’ drive in Tain l'Hermitage. While you’re there, be sure to squeeze in a segway tour of the town’s tremendous vineyards – followed by, of course, an après-tour tipple.
