Might you like to have a French stay within reach of Paris and with easy access to top French theme parks – but escape back to a peaceful base away from the hordes at night? Have it at Ze Camping at Camping Country Park Touquin, a family-friendly site less than an hour's drive from the capital, half an hour from Disneyland Paris and an hour and 15 minutes from Parc Astérix. Spend peaceful days on site, where there are lots of activities to get stuck into: no-kill fishing in one of two ponds on the estate (please bring your own equipment) or playing at the multi-sports pitch, pétanque pitch, tennis court, indoor children's play area or trampoline. Between May and mid-September (weather permitting), the site also has a heated outdoor swimming pool with a waterslide and a large sunbathing area. In July and August (during the school holidays), there is also some family entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings. The on-site snack bar is open in July and August for food to have on the terrace or take away; bread and pastries can also be ordered every evening to pick up freshly baked the next morning.

Local attractions

There are plenty of activities near to Ze Camping at Camping Country Park Touquin, including pick-your-own activities, canoeing, horse-riding and golf. Visit at least one of the must-see theme parks: Disneyland Paris (half an hour's drive), Parc Astérix (an hour and 15 minutes), Feline Park (10 minutes), Land of Monkeys (10 minutes) and Parrot World (25 minutes). Of course, Paris (around an hour) is another nice excursion. There's much too much to do in the city to cram it all in here/on one trip, but musts include the standard tourist spots of the Eiffel Tower, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Arc de Triomphe, as well as the hill and district of Montmartre, the Musée d'Orsay, the huge public library in the Centre Georges Pompidou, and the city's many art galleries including the Louvre. Ze Camping at Camping Country Park Touquin is also well placed for getting to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of medieval Provins, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte in Maincy, the town and castle of Fontainebleau, and the splendid old royal Palace of Versailles.
