Explore the Alabaster Coast of Normandy from your comfortable base at family-friendly Camping Paradis Les Boucaniers. This well-equipped spot sits on the outskirts of the lively coastal town of Le Tréport, a five-minute drive (or a 25-minute walk) from a pebbly beach anchored at its northern end by a lighthouse, and at its southern end by a vertiginous chalky cliff. A funicular travelling through man-made tunnels carved out of the rock takes you to the top of the cliff where you can take in far-reaching views of the coastline. The site is open all year, though certain amenities are available only during the summer season. These include evening entertainments – from disco nights to live music (April–August); a brasserie (April–August) and a kids’ club (July and August). But you won’t have to worry about the kids having nothing to do off-season: the playground operates year-round (there’s also a sandpit), as do the pétanque court, the bowling alley and a multisports area for family tournaments. In good weather, you can hire a bike on site and explore nearby villages like Eu and Mers-les-Bains, which are collectively known, alongside Le Tréport, as the Three Sisters. If bad weather stops all outdoor play, a board game borrowed from reception should help while away a few hours. There’s a shared barbecue area and a communal fridge where you can store any purchases from the on-site shop, which stocks everyday items, as well as freshly baked bread and flaky breakfast pastries. There are also three toilet/shower blocks (including a heated one for the colder months), plus facilities for disabled guests and a token-operated launderette.

A neat, friendly family campsite, super close to town, shops & sea. Staff are brilliant, loos & showers spotless, pitches roomy. Pool & restaurant get the thumbs up. Just watch out for unisex toilets, wonky Wi-Fi and the bistro sometimes being closed. Otherwise, it's a quiet, safe spot to explore from.

Liked The location - it’s nice to be able to walk from the site to do things. Level pitches. Quiet. Laundry facilities included a washing line. The facility to order bread and pastries for delivery. Walking distance to a well stocked small supermarket. Water tap close to our pitch.

Disliked The lack of toilet paper at times: Taking our own solved the problem but I hadn’t expected that.

Liked Lovely Family run Campsite
Choose your own pitch, get there early if you can if you have a large motorhome like us as some can be a bit tight, we managed to get a corner pitch with plenty room for an awning, the pitch was also level.
Beautiful heated pool & Restaurant on site.
Clean showers & external/internal toilets all unisex which seems to be normal in France.

Love to say a big Thank you to Natalie the owner who went above and beyond arranging a family member to take us into Honfluer and pick us up again as there were no taxis available, be aware they finish seemingly at 6pm if you can even get one.

Would definitely return if ever back in the area. Honfluer is a Beautiful town not to be missed.

Liked Proximity to the town centre, lots of space and lots of sanitation facilities.

Local attractions

Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme (half an hour’s drive) is the gateway to the National Nature Reserve of the Somme, an area of tidal flats and wetlands that is home to France’s largest colony of seals – more than 500, between harbour and grey seals. The House of the Somme interpretation centre has interactive spaces and dioramas on the nature of the bay. Dieppe (35 minutes) has a pretty harbour lined with restaurants serving locally caught seafood. There are displays on the history of the town within the hilltop castle (and expansive views from the castle grounds). The kids might enjoy spending some time at the miniature golf course or at the skatepark along the seafront. In addition to the largest cathedral in the country (the 12th-century Cathédrale Notre-Dame), Amiens (one hour and 10 minutes) is renowned for its ‘hortillonnages’, a network of largely navigable canals that have been made into floating gardens. Hire a canoe and glide gently along, spotting the resident frogs and birds.
