Liked Easy to reach from A75.
Choice of places to eat a few minutes away in the car.
Facilities were fine with plenty of hot water and loo paper. Also clean.

Disliked Access to the camp was a problem because someone had decided to organise a folk concert in the road. When we returned from dinner I had to park in the street and then go back for the car later.

Liked Muy buen trato de la chica que nos atendió. Estuvimos confortablemente y rodeado de naturaleza. Parcelas muy amplias para acampar y para autocaravanas.

Liked Ci è piaciuto molto il camping, accogliente e dotato di ottimi servizi. Posizione comoda anche per escursioni , come nel nostro caso, alla cima del Puy de Dome.
Personale molto gentile in reception, pronto a darvi consigli su cosa fare e ristoranti dove mangiare. C’è un market grande a 5 minuti e vicinissimo anche il mercato in alcuni giorni. Siamo stati molto bene. Ogni piazzola è delimitata da una siepe, quindi c’è molta privacy .

Disliked La piscina si trova subito fuori dal camping e per accedere gli uomini non possono indossare il costume a pantaloncino, non abbiamo capito il perché. Quindi ne abbiamo dovuto comprare un altro conforme al loro regolamento

Liked Jolie camping, bien placé pour visiter l'Auvergne. L'accueil est rapide, sympa et efficace. Les emplacements sont bien délimités. Et l'environnement de Montaigut est très chouette.

Disliked L'emplacement est libre même s'il est réservé. Si nous l'avions su nous serions arrivé plus tôt pour choisir un emplacement avec électricité plus ombragé (période exceptionnelle de canicule)

Local attractions

If you’d like to explore locally, have a stroll through Montaigut-le-Blanc’s cobbled lanes and then head off along the Chemin des Caves to the 140 Caves (15 minutes’ walk), where wine was kept in the 19th century; some of them are used to store the local St Nectaire cheese today. There are more caves – this time troglodyte dwellings – at The Jonas Caves (15 minutes’ drive); some are open for visits and have faded frescoes on the walls. You can go castle-bagging too. Kids will enjoy the themed tours and archery sessions at Château de Murol (20 minutes). Who can resist visiting a volcano? Scramble up hiking trails to the top of Puy de Dôme (45 minutes) – or cheat and take the mini train – for spectacular views over the cones of several extinct volcanoes. When you’ve seen the real things, next stop could be Vulcania (also 45 minutes), a volcano-themed amusement park with interactive rides and 4D films in the planetarium.
