Family-friendly site, lovely fjord-side spot. Clean facilities, good pitches, great kids' play area. Friendly staff. Shop, cafe, restaurant on-site. Drainage issues noted in loos; Wi-Fi/elec extra. Quiet when perm residents away. Fjord views not as striking as some hoped.

Liked Fräscht och läge. Ett paradis för barnfamiljer. Läget vid fjorden är trevligt. Bra på alla plan.

Disliked Misstänkt underdimensionerat avlopp i sanitetsbyggnaden, alternativt felaktiga fall eller liknande. Det var otryggt att gå på toaletten då det var osäkert om det skulle spolas ner.

Wifi kostar extra och elen likaså. Jag föredrar att allt ingår i priset direkt.

Local attractions

Options among different elements are yours to pick from straight from the site: borrow a canoe and get out onto the fjord, take one of the bike routes from the grounds, or potter along the Path of Hearts four-kilometre walking trail from the site to Løgstrup. Within driving distance, flutter along for a subterranean tour of the limestone mines of Daugbjerg Kalkgruber, along a kilometre of lit passageways via treasure hunt activities for kids. The mines are Denmark's biggest winter hibernation site for bats; tour guides will regale you with batty facts about them and the caves as you amble along underground. Also underground, over 60 kilometres of passages await at the mighty Mønsted Kalkgruber caves, some the size of cathedrals. A passage leads to two underground lakes, where a multimedia show projects the story of the caves onto the water and the cavern walls; you could also take the mine train, running along from the old factory and past the open pit to deep inside the mine. There are bats in these caves too – around 18,000 – so check before setting off that the caves are open to the public, as they close during the bats' mating and flying season.
