The long stretch of golden sand at Benllech beach is said by visitors and locals alike to be one of the very best beaches on Anglesey… and it’s only about a 20-minute walk away when you stay at Bodafon Caravan Park. That means you’ll be able to get out onto the beach whenever you fancy it for a sandy stroll, a paddle, a swim or a sunset picnic (and you’ll even be able to have a drink without worrying about driving back…). Handily, Benllech village – with its shops, pubs and restaurants – is even closer at about 10 minutes’ walk from the park. Being so close to the beach also means you’ll have easy access to the Anglesey Coast Path, opening up options for mile upon mile of gorgeous seaside walks. There are bus services close by as well, and it should take no more than half an hour to drive to pretty much any corner of the island you wish to visit. Bodafon is a quiet and relaxed park where the focus is on the essential amenities rather than the entertainments. You won’t find a clubhouse, pool or dedicated play area here, but you will have access to modern toilet facilities, hot showers (for a small charge), wifi and chemical disposal.

  • A charge of £1,00 (R22,69) applies for the use of the shower.
  • Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.
  • Guests must bring their own duvets, pillows, sheets and towels when staying in rental accommodation. You will not be allowed to stay if you do not bring these items.

Local attractions

Anglesey’s well known for its beaches and coastal scenery, so set off along the coast path for seaside views or pick a beach or two to visit. The area around Porth Wen (20 minutes’ drive), with its old Victorian kilns, is particularly interesting for a walk, and Rhosneigr and Niwbwrch (both half an hour) are among the top picks for beach days. For more on the heritage front, take a walk through the colourful industrial landscapes of Parys Mountain (20 minutes), visit the moated fortress of Beaumaris Castle (20 minutes) or explore the elegant Plas Newydd House and Gardens (25 minutes). If outdoor activities are more your thing, head back over the Menai Bridge to the dramatic landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park (40 minutes) and their hiking, mountain biking and climbing locations. If you’ve got the kids with you, check out attractions like Pili Palas Nature World (15 minutes), home to butterflies and exotic creatures, or Anglesey Sea Zoo (half an hour). Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (half an hour) is another option if you’ve got adrenaline seekers in your party.
