Electric grass pitch

Liked Beautiful site! Second time visiting. We visited earliear this year after climbing Snowdon for a day and knew on that visit we would be back! This time spent 3 nights. The site is just stunning, the views are breathtaking: and the staff are so friendly and helpful; this time we walked up moel eilio which you can get to via the campsite. The staff really helped explain the route along with some other walks we maybe interested in!

If you use this site. Do
The walk up to the summit of moel eilio.
The views are amazing: straight across the valley to see Snowdon. Turn the other way and views of angelsey and the coasts. Wow.

The site is great for kids if you have them and the toilets are clean along with the utility area.

We will be back no doubt again to tick off the other walks.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked My partner and I loved this campsite (as did my 3 year old)! It’s in such a great location, both for the incredible views of the mountains and access to just about everywhere. We felt we were always 20-40 mins to the places we wanted to be, including Snowdon and the beaches. Lots of lovely local walks. The staff were super lovely and very helpful, nothing was too much for them! The campsite and the facilities were spot on, they were always very clean and had running hot water. There’s taps around the campsite for fresh spring water. The park was a great size and they have donkeys and alpacas to feed! Going with a 3 year old, we were hoping there weren’t too many loud groups at night, but the campsite had strict rules for no fires/noise after 10/10.30pm, so this suited us nicely. Loads of space for the kids to play and very good sized pitches. Would 100% recommend and will be staying here again.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Very clean and well presented shower/toilet blocks.
Quiet site even when full.
Lovely walk around the farm.
Feeding the animals.
When checking in you get a little tour/directions to various bits which is really helpful.
An all round fabulous stay!

Disliked Not a dislike, but a wish. I wish it had some sort of little eatery/cafe.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Good facilities
Toilets and showers very clean
Nice little shop however more on the pricey side
Good location
Nice views

Disliked We were crammed in a corner with cars all around us - we had difficulty navigating our van around them just to get into our pitch
Booked in for 2 nights, left morning after 1st night
Noisy at night time

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: We are really sorry that you had an issue with your stay. We were aware of the problem caused by people not putting their cars where they were asked to in the late evening so did not ask them to move until the morning. We did rectify the situation but obviously too late.
We do not allow music or any loud noise on the campsite. We constantly check for this during the day. We have quiet time between 2200 and 0700. At night we do walk arounds at 2200 and 2300. The warden did report that all was quiet by 2300 on the night of your stay.

Local attractions

The surrounding area has heaps to see and do alongside the rambles, coastlines and castles: if you get a bit stuck for choice, ask the family for their top picks. Within a short drive are Surf Snowdonia in Conway, Zip World in Bethesda (home to Velocity, the fastest zipline in the world and the longest in Europe), the treetop nets of Bounce Below, Zip World Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog and GreenWood Forest Park a family adventure park in Y Felinheli. Rather conveniently, one of Wales's top attractions is less than five miles from Tyn Yr Onnen Farm, the National Slate Museum in Llanberis, where kids can get stuck into the story of the country's mining heritage amid talks and demos, quarrymen's houses and interactive play activities. Llanberis village is where many set out to climb Snowdon as the Llanberis Path begins here, winding up the least taxing route (we'll point out again that the Snowdon Mountain Railway goes to the top too). The village is also a popular place for adventurous activities like kayaking, coasteering, scuba diving, mountain biking, pony trekking and high ropes courses. Another popular pull of these parts is the Dinorwig Power Station or Electric Mountain: take an underground tour, set the kids free to play in the den, or test your wits in the Genius Corner puzzle room.
