A friendly croeso – that’s Welsh for ‘welcome’ – to Cwt Tyddyn Shepherd's Hut. Got your eyes set on exploring the peaks and troughs of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia)? If so, this shepherd’s hut in the Conwy countryside makes a cosy base for your adventures – it's only a few minutes' drive (mostly along the A5) from the eastern edge of the national park. This traditional shepherd’s hut, designed for adults only, is in a private area on a smallholding. Insulated and equipped with mains electricity, it’s comfortable as can be, and it comes paired up with a splendid summerhouse containing basic kitchen facilities, a sofa and a table and chairs. Surrounded by views down a valley towards Welsh hills, you'll no doubt be itching to get out and explore. There are walking and biking trails at Llyn Alwen, 10 minutes' drive away, and more of that plus fishing at Llyn Brenig, 15 minutes' drive away. And that's just a small selection of the excellent walking and bike trails around here (not to mention all those in Eryri as well…). Stock up on food in Cerrigydrudion, a five-minute drive away. There are also a couple of pubs in the village, as well as other pubs within a short drive of the shepherd's hut.
