General

  • Family-friendly site just off the A487 four miles from Cardigan
  • A few minutes' drive from beaches and half an hour from Fishguard
  • Local ale bar and beer garden on site

You may be enroute across country, or seeking a handy stopover for the Fishguard ferry… or perhaps you’re seeking a convenient spot from which to explore the many attractions of the Ceredigion coast.

Whatever causes you to wend your way to this corner of west Wales, you’ll be most welcome at family-run Greenore Camping and Caravanning, a spacious four-acre rural site handily located just off the A487. Town amenities are easily reached four miles away in Cardigan, and the site is also just a few minutes’ drive from some splendid beaches, castles, the coastal path and heaps of outdoorsy days out.

It’s safe to say that owners David and Sue seem to have a fair idea of what folks want/need after their journeys or days out – these enterprising folks have set up their own little bar, Greenore Tavern, on site, open from Thursdays to Saturdays from 8pm until 11pm. They’ve also got a small shop selling firewood and kindling for days when the weather decrees a campfire possible, and gas bottles for when you’d rather cosy up indoors.

Please note

Group bookings of 2 or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

No bachelor/bachelorette parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro) and/or any of the following: Staffordshire bull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Rottweiler, any Mastiff or Tosa.

How friendly & welcoming Sue & David were. Really helpful when we had problems with our caravan. They bent over backwards to help recommend repair shops in area...

    Disliked:

Taven was closed due to COVID-19 so wasn't able to enjoy all there facilities... But can't really blame Sue & David for that.

We had an amazing week at Greenore, location is fantastic with plenty of beautiful beaches just on your doorstep including Poppit Sands, Llangrannog, Tresaith. David and Sue are the nicest people, after a long journey to the campsite we were greeted with a cup of tea and cake (a very lovely welcomed surprise). Nothing was too much trouble.
The campsite was perfect for us, hence the reason this was our second visit to Greenore.

    Would definitely return

    What a lovely camp site!
We arrived in rather rainy windy weather but we were greeted by 2 very friendly faces - Sue and David, who were super welcoming and gave us all the info we would need for our stay. We went to get our camp set up and soon after, Sue came out to us with complimentary drinks our 4 children (Ages 15,13,11,10), hot drinks for us and enough slices of delicious home made lemon drizzle cake for us all! What a lovely lovely touch and extremely welcome after our long drive to our holiday destination!
Luckily we had lovely weather for the rest of our holiday (1 week)
The site as a whole is lovely! I cannot say anything negative about it at all.
It is clean and well maintained. Lovely views! The site is on a main road but you honestly wouldn't know it as you still feel tucked away. I didn't hear traffic once while I was there from our camp area.
The toilet and shower facilities were always clean, tidy and very nice to be in.There are Mens, Ladies and Unisex toilets. The pot washing facilities were always clean and nice - everywhere we went we never found mess or anything unclean.
The Tavern on site where you will find Sue and David to say hello to inside on certain evenings,is a lovely place to sit and relax with a drink and good music (they even take requests!) and its family friendly! My kids even took a game of scrabble to play to amuse them! Wifi is also available in the Tavern where you will gladly be told the password. When the Tavern is not open you can still access the wifi if you stand near and around the Tavern.
The campers breakfast that is offered for a good price was enjoyed on one morning by my husband and 1 of my children (the rest of my kids dont like a cooked breakfast!)
Nothing is too much trouble - Sue and David were so kind to our 4 boys and they were all ridiculously sad to have to leave after a week of fun! Always helps when camping to have a lovely place to return to at the end of the day and this camp site certainly was that!
All in all I would thoroughly recommend staying here! We had such a lovely time and we will definitely be returning again to this lovely, well run camp site! If I could rate it higher than 5 I would! Superb!

Wonderful hosts. . . Provided homemade cake for us on our arrival! They were always about on site and were very helpful.
Washing/toilet facilities were clean and more than adequate.
A small bar/gathering place appeared to be cosy and friendly.
The site is well maintained. It's very close to some beautiful beaches and two supermarkets.
Our dog loved the well kept dog walking area.
We feel that the only extra thing the children would have appreciated would be a small play area (couple of swings and slide).
Thank you to David and Sue, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful part of Wales and we hope to return sometime in the future.

Local attractions

The Ceredigion coastline could keep guests amused for many a day: there are excellent beaches within 15 minutes’ drive in Aberporth, Llangrannog, Mwnt and Tresaith, wildlife-spotting boat trips from Cardigan and more than 60 miles of seaside rambling to be done on the Ceredigion Coast Path.

Days of golf, fishing and horse riding can all be had within a half-hour drive, and the area has plenty of fab places to go for a walk – Llys y Fran Country Park, arty Sculptureheaven and Cenarth Falls are all nearby (if you’re visiting the latter, plan some time to swing by the Caws Cenarth farm to see the cheese in production and sample a little taster).

Castle visits are often popular picks around these parts, too, so head to Cardigan Castle to see the results of a lengthy restoration project, or to Cilgerran Castle to see the medieval round towers. Other fab days out nearby include the Welsh Wildlife Centre and Dyfed Shire Horse Farm (both 15 minutes away).
