What customers say

Family-run spot with amazing views & a chill vibe. Private, big pitches. Super clean facilities, modern bathrooms incl. showers. Owners are lekker helpful! Llamas & donkeys are a hit with kids. Most folks loved it, just a few noted pitch walk & wheelbarrow needs. Great, beautiful place for a chill holiday.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Most beautiful view I ever had from a campsite. Friendly people. Good atmosphere. Fact that cars need to be parked offsite makes the campsite nicer. Facilities are nice and clean.

Disliked Be sure to prepare for cold, this campsite is pretty high.

Liked Location was pretty. Staff were very helpful, great fire set up for campers.

Disliked Kids play area was pretty dissappointing and is more like a tired obstacle course. Sheep being let into our camping area without a heads up.

Local attractions

In a dither about what to do first? You can soon be out and about all day long around this part of Scotland… hill walking or trail running, rock climbing or mountain biking, wild swimming or kayking, hiking through forests and around lochs – call Outdoor Explore (20 minutes’ drive) and they’ll organise everything for you. And that’s just in the warmer months… when it’s colder, Glenshee Ski Centre is 20 minutes’ drive north for snowboarding, cross-country and downhill skiing, as well as lessons for complete novices and gear hire too. For a tour of mighty baronial castles, perhaps begin at Balmoral (50 minutes), the Scottish home of the Royal Family and open (when the King isn’t staying, anyway) for tours of its surprisingly homely rooms and walks along the River Dee. Other historic residences to visit include Scone Palace (50 minutes), where Scottish kings were once crowned, and Blair Atholl (35 minutes), home of Scotland’s only private army, the Atholl Highlanders, and an exceptional collection of weaponry.
