If you’re setting off to the Scottish Highlands, settle down in Glencoe at Glencoe Independent Hostel… surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, wildlife and history, this dog-friendly site has been owned and run by fans of the outdoors for over 14 years and it has scenic mountain views. Let the friendly faces point you in the direction of the surrounding mountain summits (the nearest is five minutes’ drive away) or paddleboarding and kayaking on lochs such as Glencoe Lochan, five minutes’ away and a mecca for watersports and nature trails through forests and mountains. Tick off the activities such as fishing and climbing or walks straight off the doorstep… and then refuel and re-energise on the site. Handily, in Glencoe, there’s a food shop within five minutes’ drive of the site where you can stock up on any supplies and plenty of restaurants, cafés and bars around Glencoe too with splendid views over the loch if you like to pair some tasty food with a side of good views.
