What customers say

Ox Trail Glamping: a quiet, nature-filled getaway with cool digs. Visitors loved the comfy, clean, private setup, plus the friendly hosts and gorgeous views. Kids enjoyed the animals and outdoor fun, ditching screens. A bit damp in heavy rain with some midges, but overall a brilliant stay with many wanting to come back.

Hideaway 3 bedroom lodge

2 bedroom lodge

Liked We had a marvellous time at Ox Mountain. We were made to feel welcome and the cabin was warm and cosy when it needed to be. The local area is stunning and we had a walk to the mass rock through a a forest that felt like something straight out of Lord of the Rings. No wifi and we didn't miss it! Tobercurry wasn't too far away and it waS an excellent base to get to Sligo, Galway and Westport.

Red Bus 1 bedroom on-site touring caravan

Liked We totally enjoyed our 2 night stay on the red bus at ox mountain glamping. Dermot and Monica were Wonderful hosts with plenty of information about the area and places to go. The woods beside us for walks and the drive over the mountains with beautiful scenery was amazing. No WiFi available or coverage on phones, and this to us was great as we relaxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. The kids are already planning the next time here.

Treehouse

Liked Absolutely everything from the accommodation, the animals and surroundings was amazing. Our grandson was so happy and carefree he didn't mention his electronic devices once and just played especially with the hosts adorable dog who was so friendly and playful. The hosts and staff were such friendly, helpful and down to earth people who took time out of their busy day to meet and talk with us. We were orientated to the area and walks and areas of interest were recommended. It is self catering and the hosts encourage recycling. The whole experience brought us back to a time when phones, social media and Internet did not rule our lives and time could be spent talking, playing boardgames and outdoor activities without the new social norms. We shall definitely return and I will recommend the experience to others.

Disliked I could not fault anything the entire experience is clearly explained on the website

Local attractions

Walking shoes are a good idea when staying here – whether you’re planning lengthy hikes or just taking a stroll through the nearby woodlands. For a nice little local wander, there’s an intact Roman Catholic Mass Rock just beyond the forest – you can make your way there along a woodland path or more quickly along the road. For more outdoor activities, head to Easky (25 minutes’ drive) for surfing, take your fishing kit to Easky Lough (five minutes) or Lough Talt (10 minutes) or saddle up for a day of horse trekking from Cuilmore (25 minutes). There are raptor shows to take in at Eagles Flying (half an hour), or you could head to Enniscrone (half an hour) for a day on the sandy beach. For some town time, take a trip to Sligo (40 minutes), which has watersports and boat trips as well as historic sites dedicated to local boy WB Yeats. It's also worth checking out what's on in Tobercurry – the town often hosts summer festivals and musical events.
