What customers say
Friendly, basic campsite with amazing sea views – great for walkers wanting a simple break. Easy access to coast paths and shops. Good value with helpful owners, though portaloos could be cleaner/smellier, and it can get windy. Some pitches are on a slope.

Great location, very basic facilities.
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Location right by the sea and walking distance from the lighthouse, old quarry etc is fantastic.
Small site so can't get overly busy, easy to get to, quite easy to get into and park (though the access is quite steep).
Friendly and chilled out.
Disliked Facilities are extremely basic. This was expected but nevertheless - it's not a highlight. Running water is one tap for the site, no washing up facilities, portaloos only which are as to be expected (pretty grim). Also, no general waste bins, just food waste.
Pitches are pretty small (4 X 9 ish) including parking so you might need to get creative and hope your neighbours haven't got a big tent either.

From the manager: Thanks for your feedback back, yes the pitch are 9x4. But we only advertise our pitch as 3x3 for tent.
And 3x5 for vans. Which you know when you booked our site. So when are pitchs are 9x4 it's more than adequate.
There is a general rubbish, but we want to recycle as must as possible that's why there is recycling for both metal, cardboard and plastic.
Also we don't offer washing up facilities so why would you expect it ?
Like we tell anyone who asked we are limited on what we can provide due to us being in a natural beauty area full of restrictions.

Non-electric grass and earth motorhome pitch
Liked Views to die for. Very relaxed site.
Disliked The port a loos were smelly. The flaps didn't cover the hole properly. Not the site owners fault though. People did seem to keep them clean though.

Great site with lots of potential to be amazing
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked The views are amazing but think carefully about where you set up camp so you can get the best of the view - we had a couple of people park their vans right in front of our tent sadly limiting our view. The team managing the site are very friendly and helpful too. People complained on here about the loos on the site - but we had no issues. The costs for the site are so reasonable especially for single mums!!
Disliked Not sure it’s a dislike as such but an observation that because the site is so open the breeze can be a challenge. Getting out of the site onto the main road is a little tricky as the campsite sign blocks the view to the left of the road (if your car is as small as a corsa for example). The site says it is a non loud music site but there was music on 2 nights of your stay until quite late on which wasn’t so much fun. And the site instructions suggest arriving up until 8pm but we had late night arrivers - unless I read that wrong. This site has the potential to be beautifully peaceful and little things like that currently prevent that.

Basic site , toilets not great but friendly staff and good price
Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Beautiful views out to sea from site , and lovely walks along the coast. Bring binoculars along to catch the stunning views and wildlife. Portland bill lighthouse is about a 20 minute walk away with a cafe for meals and drinks. In the opposite direction from the site there’s a lovely pub that has a good live band on a Sunday and also serves food, only ten minutes walk away from the site.
Disliked Toilets are the potable ones that do get a bit smelly .

Liked Location is amazing. Beautiful coastal views and walks. Pub with a lovely meal is around 10 mins walk away.
Disliked Not a downside for me but if you don’t like portaloos then maybe this isn’t for you.
