What customers say
A small, chill campsite with a quiet vibe, friendly hosts and an intimate feel. Spacious pitches, hot showers, clean loos and a handy pub/shop. Lots of birds and free-roaming chickens! Basic but with a communal fridge/freezer and charging. Limited phone signal and some rustic facilities, but a lovely back-to-basics gem that guests would revisit.

Basic.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (pet friendly)
Liked Great hot water showers, laidback atmosphere, sound of the sea through the night (when it wasn't raining), lots of birdlife, convenient pub, and camp shop and coffee bar over the road on a different site but open to anybody.
Disliked Kitchen area (fridge, freezer, kettle and phone charging sockets) neglected and a bit grubby, though toilets and shower huts were maintained to a reasonable level.

Basic, cleanish amenities; owner next door if needed; great location.
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch (pet friendly)
Liked The site is very quiet and secluded, only the odd pleasant neigh from a horse in the field next door penetrated the silence.
Before my arrival, Ruth did clearly state that the amenities were fairly rustic. This is immediately evident, but the cleanliness was generally good and the left hand shower was always hot. Each of my cool mornings, I found it very hard to leave.
It is also in an ideal position to explore the natural beauty around Gwithian, and the beach is just a short walk away.
A pub serving lovely food is almost ‘on site’ and the close proximity to the ‘Horse Box’ mobile cafe is a bonus too!!
Disliked It would have been of great help if the owner had been far more proactive before my arrival. I felt communication was very ‘hit and miss’ with answers to queries taking too long to get a reply. This was very frustrating when facing difficult planning decisions at home.
Onto more physical matters, the shower on the right was very temperamental, so much so that I used it once and gave up.
The ‘fridge and food prep’ shed was extremely basic and smelt a little unsavoury. The contents (not anything supplied by owner) of the fridge were questionable as to age and whether they had been just dumped and left to deteriorate by previous campers.
Finally, the phone signal is a bit ify and I usually had to leave the campsite to get hooked up. Saying that, in many situations, though not ideal, this can be seen as a positive too!
