  • A 15-minute drive from Portreath beach and half an hour from St Ives
  • Indoor pool (high season only), games room and dog exercise paddock
Wake up to an unruffled vista of gentle hills and cobalt seas at Lanyon Holiday Park, which offers 14 acres of generously proportioned grass pitches. Site facilities are great: you can wallow for hours – free of charge, between April and September – in the toasty indoor swimming pool; the games room is open all day for TV, pool and video games; the kids can bounce themselves silly on the sizeable trampoline in the play park; and they’ve even thought of the dog, with a roomy exercise paddock for campsite canines (although there are no end of gorgeous walks in the countryside surrounding Lanyon, too). There’s no need to stress about the essentials, either. It’s all here: fridges and freezers, ample free hot water everywhere on site, hairdryers to keep your barnet looking tiptop, and oodles of washing machines, rotary and tumble dryers, and a free ironing kit.

Liked Good size pitches, we had one that was hedge lined and it was lovely. Park is great, pool is great, facilities clean. We absolutely loved this site. It was so quiet and peaceful. Close proximity to beaches. We only stayed for 2 nights but will definitely be back. Would highly recommend

Liked The size was perfect, electric worked well, toilets were clean! Good location.

Disliked Slight issue when arriving as not on the system. Easily resolved by staff!

Liked Looked very clean very presentable like the location as it was very close to a dear friend I was visiting will definitely use the cane. I like that there was lots of space between the base for privacy. I liked swimming pool was nice and warm.

Disliked It was a bit windy while we were staying there which we could do nothing about obviously but good 10 pegs are to be used or sandbags as we were in cupboard pitches

Liked Facilities are clean
Called to ask that both of my pitch with my brother are together and my request was made which made the camping much better
They have fridge and freezer which make going to buy food easier
Also there is kettle and microwave which a plus if you just a quick food
My battery went flat asked the staff if they can’t help they did not hesitate to help me and really please with overall stay
My youngest who did not want camping change her mind and asked me to book again
100% will book again next trip to Cornwall

Disliked Our pitch it by the entrance of the field and the bright light of the cars go through our tent at night

Local attractions

Leaving Lanyon, it will take a mere 10 minutes in your trusty automobile to arrive at acres of golden sand. Surfers will think they have dived and gone to heaven: Portreath, on the doorstep, is not to be sneezed at, but a few miles further they’ll find arguably the best surfing in Britain, on the beaches of Newquay. Art lovers will enjoy a trip to the Tate at St Ives, followed by a meander through the narrow streets that pack the hillside behind the sweep of the bay. Also within a short drive are the biospheres of the Eden Project and the National Maritime Museum at Falmouth. Travel a little further and you can make throngs of finny friends at the aquarium in Plymouth.
